Good 30º foggy morning. Yesterday the sun finally came out about 11:30 and it
warmed to 53º.
I love seeing the contrails!

Yesterday Mike came over and did some grapevine and bush trimming (with Dude keeping an eye on him!)
and fixed the front porch light. He also blew
leaves....
Here is an GREAT and easy appetizer or snack!
Loaded Jalapeño Poppers:
- 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
- 3 tablespoons bacon bits
- 12 fresh jalapeno peppers, split in half lengthwise, cutting through stems, seeds removed
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- Vegetable oil for frying
- In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, Cheddar
cheese, and bacon bits. Firmly press a heaping teaspoonful of cheese mixture
into each pepper half. Cover and chill 1 hour.
- Place flour, eggs, and bread crumbs in 3 separate
shallow dishes. Dip stuffed pepper halves into flour, then eggs, then bread
crumbs, coating thoroughly with each.
- Fill a large saucepan or soup pot with 2 inches of oil and heat over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking. Carefully fry a few peppers at a time, 1 to 3 minutes, or until golden. Drain on paper towels and serve immediately.
Dip them in ranch dressing or mix some salsa with sour cream for a
dip.

Four husbands under her
belt!
A man with no enemies....
this was shared with me by several people. Thought it was
good!
On Sunday during the service the minister asked "How many of
you have forgiven your enemies?"
80% of the congregation raised their hands. The minister
repeated the question and all but one man raised their hands.
"Mr. Barnes, are not willing to forgive your
enemies?"
"I don't have any", he replied gruffly.
"Mr. Barnes, that is very unusual. How old are
you?"
"Ninety eight", he replied. The congregation stood up and
clapped their hands.
"Mr. Barnes, how can you live to be ninety eight and not have
any enemies?"
Mr. Barnes said, "I outlived all them assholes."
All I know. Nuff said. Happy TBT. Ciao.

National Bouillabaisse Day
Today is National Bouillabaisse Day! Bouillabaisse is a tasty fish stew
that originated in Marseilles, France around 600 B.C. At that time, Marseilles
was a Greek colony so the stew was originally called "kakavia." Bouillabaisse
also appears in Roman mythology as a soup that Venus feeds to Vulcan. Today,
bouillabaisse is an extremely popular dish in the Mediterranean
region.
Marseille fishermen typically make the dish when they return to port.
Rather than using the more expensive fish that they catch, they use common fish
like rockfish and shellfish. Different herbs and spices such as garlic, orange
peel, basil, saffron, and bay leaf are added to the soup for flavor. Vegetables
like tomatoes, onions, celery, and potatoes were added to the recipe during the
17th century.
To celebrate today, try your hand at making your own bouillabaisse stew
for your family to enjoy!
