I found this recipe and emailed it to my pal Nancy. She made this "crockpot
potatoes" for Thanksgiving and loved it. Said she's going to make the mashies
this way every time!
5 pounds red potatoes cut into chunks
1 T minced garlic
3 cubes chicken bullion
1 8oz container sour cream
1 8oz pkg cream cheese
1/2 cup butter
salt and pepper to taste
- In a large pot of lightly salted boiling water, cook the potatoes, garlic, and bouillon until potatoes are tender but firm, about 15 minutes. Drain, reserving water. In a bowl, mash potatoes with sour cream and cream cheese, adding reserved water as needed to attain desired consistency.
- Transfer the potato mixture to a slow cooker, cover, and cook on Low for 2 to 3 hours. Just before serving, stir in butter and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Don't forget the Toys For Tots....
As I said, I can pick them up and deposit them for
you...
or you can do that ...Brian's State Farm office in the
shopping center by Albertson's, The Vine, Tacos Locos, McDonalds .... Redwood
Hwy and Allen Creek Rd. Just one toy! It will go a long way to making a child
happy. Don't wait til the last minute!
Today I cook a turkey. It's out of the fridge coming to room temp as we
speak. Yesterday I cleaned. Whoopee. Made and ordered my Christmas cards from
Shutterfly. And then I made some cranberry sauce. You know, the bake in the oven
way and add bourbon... (recipe on blog November 26th)... I used 4 cups
cranberries, 2 cups sugar, 1 orange zested, juice from orange, and cinnamon.
Bake at 350º in foil covered 9x13 pan for 1 hour. Stir once at 30 minutes. Take
from oven, add 1/4 cup ... bourbon, Cointreau, brandy, etc.... I used Cinnamon
Whiskey. OMGOOOOOOOD stuff~!

.... a Hollywood
miracle..married to one woman, and for 25 years!
On this
date in 1997 we bought this house. Been quite a ride from being city folk to
country folk. Sure like the country better than the city... except when some
dumb a** neighbor starts capping rounds and fires upwards in the hundreds...one
right after the other. This happened the other day and I talked to PJ's Dave.
He was going to put up Christmas lights but, he as I, don't know where the dumb
a**'s bullets are going and he didn't want to be on the roof! The guy must be a
millionaire to fire off that many... ammo is $$!
All I
know. Happy Football Sunday (schedule on yesterday's blog). Nuff said.
Ciao.
