Good 33º snowing morning. Yes, snowing. About 1/2" so far. Beautiful out there. Maggs went out first thing and came back in all white! Plans to go to Medford later today to the Clayfolk show, but will wait and see how the streets are. We have lots of road cams around, so will be checking them. Yesterday on our Siskiyou Summit it looked like this:
Snowed on my mountain yesterday..
Just a little....
We had 1/4" of rain down here. I got a lot of stuff cleaned out, thrown away, and a pile for Goodwill!
Ok, leftover tabouli.... put it in a pan and heat it up, add some eggbeaters or scrambled eggs, cook. Awesome breakfast!
This is the funniest pursuit ever! Thanks DanP! Made me laugh. On the other hand, I hope that beeotch (endangering lives, smashing poleece cars) went to jail for a long time!!!
On a sad note.... I had heard a couple of months ago about a cougar being spotted in this area. I told my neighbors Gerard and Maria because they have chickens and goats. They kept three of the goats, mom and two kids, down in the pasture by my gate....
So, the other day I noticed one baby goat wasn't around. I saw Gerard and stopped to ask about the goat. He said it was "missing". He saw no evidence of anything being drug over the fence. I told him the cougars were BIG and STRONG and can jump a fence carrying a deer! Should have put the animals up close to the house in a pen that was secured with electric wire. Then he told me they weren't going to move the mom and baby until this weekend. WHY the wait??????
The darkest one is the missing guy....
We had a big buck visit yesterday, but I couldn't get his picture.. he was moving all the time. when he finally was still it was too dark... so the picture is all fuzzy... he was hanging with 4 does and 2 yearling fawns...
Historically this date....
1493 – Christopher Columbus goes ashore on an island he first saw the day before. He names it San Juan Bautista (later renamed Puerto Rico).
1863 – American Civil War: U.S. President Abraham Lincoln delivers the Gettysburg Address at the dedication of the military cemetery ceremony at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
1930 – Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow commit their first robbery, the first in a long series of robberies and other criminal acts.
1943 – Holocaust: Nazis liquidate Janowska concentration camp in Lemberg (Lviv), western Ukraine, murdering at least 6,000 Jews after a failed uprising and mass escape attempt.
..... so utterly disgusting. Too bad Hitler couldn't have been turned over to the Jews and let them torture him!!!
1969 – Apollo program: Apollo 12 astronauts Pete Conrad and Alan Bean land at Oceanus Procellarum (the "Ocean of Storms") and become the third and fourth humans to walk on the Moon.
I don't understand why "Soccer" is referred to as "Football"!
1990 – Pop group Milli Vanilli are stripped of their Grammy Award because the duo did not sing at all on the Girl You Know It's True album. Session musicians had provided all the vocals.
1998 – Lewinsky scandal: The United States House of Representatives Judiciary Committee begins impeachment hearings against U.S. President Bill Clinton.
...Damn, I wished that had worked!!!
And births this date include....
