Good 42ยบ high clouds morning. Supposed to stay cloudy today
with a chance of rain tomorrow. Yesterday was a "no spraying day" with 25 mph
wind gusts! Windy all day. Howling wind.
Yesterday I heard this quail calling...
and sitting in the grapevines .....
Their call is odd sounding.... go to this site, scroll down to the 'calls'
and listen to the first one... that is what he sounded like...
Thought this so funny. Queen Elizabeth getting a laugh as her
husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, stands guard outside Buckingham
Palace......
Interesting yesterday.. I had ordered a "Mom's Day" breakfast
package for Kristen from Boudin Bakery
in San Francisco.
It was on a "2 day shipping" by FedEx. It was to be delivered
on Friday. I checked the tracking number after Kristen didn't say anything about
receiving a package. Sure enough the stupid FedEx driver said at 6:30pm an
attempt was made to deliver but the school was closed. DUH! It's a school!!! So
I wrote Boudin and told them of my frustration. They called me yesterday and
apologized, said they were going to contact FedEx, and Kristen would get the
shipment yesterday as well as another shipment of "fresh breads" and an apology
from Boudin on this coming Friday. Nice. Glad they did that. Good company and
I'm happy now. EXCEPT that Kristen never received the package yesterday~! FedEX
you are on my LIST!
Historically this date....
...........WHAT? So so wrong on so many levels.
1948 – Israel is declared to be an
independent state and a provisional
government is established. Immediately after the declaration, Israel is
attacked by the neighboring Arab states, triggering the 1948 Arab-Israeli
War.
1961 – American
civil rights movement: The Freedom Riders bus is
fire-bombed near Anniston, Alabama, and
the civil rights protesters are
beaten by an angry mob.
And births this date include...
1984 – Mark Zuckerberg,
American computer programmer and internet entrepreneur, co-founder of Facebook
From "Just Little Things" ... life's simple pleasures:
"Going to bed knowing you can sleep as long as you want."
All I know. Happy Tuesday. Nuff said. Ciao.
