Turkeys ~ Rose Parade Grand Marshal ~ Rose Parade Memories ~ Polydactyl Cats ~ Rose Bowl ~ Frank ~ Salmon/Veggies/Pasta Combo

Good 38º now. (and has warmed to 45º by noon!)

Again the nutty Wild Texas Turkeys were outside when Dude and the Bruise went out to do their "duty"...
Here is a 28 second video of the gobblers...

I finally got the old computer up and working good again. Went through it and deleted anything with AOL on the title. Then ran a scan and re-installed the AOL. Seems to be working fine now. Whew........................................

2015 Rose Parade Grand Marshal Louis Zamperini

Olympian and World War II prisoner of war, Louis Zamperini, a true American hero who survived excessive hardships will be the Grand Marshal for the 2015 Rose Parade, themed "Inspiring Stories." Despite Mr. Zamperini's passing, the Tournament of Roses is dedicated to honoring him as the Grand Marshal of the 2015 Rose Parade.

Interesting read... Italian immigrant parents, born in NY, went to  Torrance High School in So. Cal! He didn't even speak English! Whatta man he was his whole life! RIP Louis!

Speaking of the Rose Parade... worked it for a number of years. Had to be at Command Post at 3am and then "keep the peace" normally at Colorado and Orange Grove along with a number of Deputies from out department as well as Pasadena PD.

I had one funny experience ... I had to keep an intersection clear for emergency vehicles over on Sierra Madre ... this man, he could have been Wilt Chamberlain!, sat his chair down in the middle of this road opening. I, in my best and most professional and sympathetic way tried to explain that he had to move. He stood up. OMG, I was talking to his belt buckle!!! He was being non-compliant. I was getting worried. Then all of a sudden he started to back down, relax, picked up his chair.... I thought, "WOW, I'm really doing great!" LOL, then looked behind me and there was a Sgt and 5 Deputies!!! Ahhhhhh... nothing like back-up!

Doing some research on my Polydactyl cat, Bruiser...

Normal cats have 18 toes... Bruiser has 24 toes.
Here he is playing with corks!

Love this...taking Lucy for a ride on the quad taking' the trash can to the road!

Last night I cooked a "Combo" dinner...
Canned sliced mushrooms, canned artichoke hearts, canned peas, canned salmon, canned olives, cream of mushroom soup, Harry and David's Jalapeño Tomato Dip, mushroom pasta, tomatoes, and veggies (celery, carrots, broccoli, snap peas, and cauliflower).... (FYI Grocery Outlet has some GREAT pastas... check them out. I like the mushroom and the spinach.)

I roasted the carrots (olive oil, sea salt, and pepper)..

Veggies into pan with some olive oil to sauté...

Took dried sliced garlic and added some hot water so it reconstitutes...

In the pan went the garlic and roasted carrots...

Next the salmon, olives, tomatoes, and the mushroom soup and tomato dip....

Mix well and added in the cooked pasta... Heated through..
OMGOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!  (leftovers for tonight!)

Ok, computer working good. Time for some football. Hope everyone's day is going well. Jeannie hope that hand is feeling better!!! Thank you all for your good wishes and notes and calls. Love you all! xoxoxo
