Good 52º, 82% humid morning. Ick. Yesterday can be best described as 'stuffy'. It was about 90º and so humid. Not comfy. Like livin' in the South! Whine whine whine...I'm ready for Fall!
Pretty this morning... a touch of pink in the sky..
I have a couple of bug bites, spider probably ... not mosquitos. Mosquito bites manifest their selves the second day and are better in about 3. The one on my hand kept itching, even after putting After Bite on it. So one of my pals, BFF SOW Sista, suggested putting a copper penny on the bite spot and it will take away the itch. I had read about this before, and it's poo poo'd by most sites and Snopes. But.... I tried it. Taped a penny to the bite and surprisingly the itching stopped.
Thanks Jeannie!
I have a blog 'friend', Beth, who is an amazing cook and she just makes the most mouth-watering dishes. Please check out her blog
www.budgetbytes.blogspot.com and the Vegetable Tian she just made is heaven.
Also.... ricotta gnocchi (Alex.... Mary... try this one!)
Easy easy easy!!!!
So.... yesterday I took the truck to the carwash...
It takes an hour, they had cars lined up ahead of me, so at least they have free wifi and I took my mini laptop so I read emails and responded. But, the problem with this place is that they don't have enough personnel at the end of the wash to wipe down the vehicles and the guy missed a lot! Besides they didn't even get it clean under the bumper on the trailer hitch part. Still dirt there! Not going back to Paradise Car Wash... not for $19.95!!!
To the vacuum cleaner store for bags for my new vacuum... Safeway for Tully's Pacific Northwest decaf coffee
(good stuff!) and will try some Stevia I bought as a sugar substitute.
Also picked up some Safeway Select Hot Chili Seasoning...
which contains: sea salt, chili pepper, red bell pepper, black pepper, onions, garlic, parsley, and paprika! Tastes like heaven! Will be good on EVERYTHING!
Stopped in to see Brian then to the Cooking Company.
It's a fun store with zillions of kitchen things. I bought stuff for our JCRW silent auction "Kitchen Krazy" basket. Then off to the countryside to visit Jeannie and Bill and Chaka...
Bill had his USMC flag out ...
Nice!
He took Chaka for a run while Jeannie and I blabbed and had wine.
Jeannie made sure Chaka's pool was filled before they got back and she was one happy dog to get right in...
It looked so good, I wanted to get in too!
Then back down the hill....
and headed back to RR. Needed to pick up Magg's pills at the vets and an allergy med for her at the drug store.
