Clouds ~ Dude ~ Bruiser ~ Lightening ~ True Grit ~ World's Ugliest Dog ~ Pat Kelly ~ Sunglasses Day

Good 53º some clouds morning..........

All morning yesterday it was 75º and a nice breeze. All doors and windows open! Ahhhhh......
Dude even napped in the sun!

This succession of cloud pictures was interesting...over the course of a very few minutes they changed...

And Bruiser amused himself by climbing atop this cabinet...

Actually he does a straight up leap from the dining room table!

Here is a photo taken by Steve Arnold (time lapse) of lightening over Grants Pass on Sunday night... amazing!!!!

"They" said a total of 1500 lightening strikes occurred Sunday afternoon/evening. There were 1500 people without power and a few fires. Nothing serious.

Sunday night I watched a movie, why I did I don't know, True Grit made in 2010. It was a remake of the 1969 True Grit with John Wayne. This one starred Jeff Bridges. It sucked!

The original was so much better. Of course anything with John Wayne was the BEST!
On the news Saturday were the results of the Ugliest Dog Contest, held in Petaluma Ca. The 2017 winner was Martha, a Neopolitian Mastiff:
That is one big loose face!!! LOL!
Today a special birthday.....

Pat Kelly, a traveling pal who was with our group to Greece and Turkey back in 2009. HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAT!!

L-R Pat, Laura, Julie, Alice, Melinda (my niece), me, and "The Captain", Pat's man!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday. Ciao.

Sunglasses Day

Sunglasses Day is a shady day for your eyes.

Summer is in full swing. The sun is high in the sky. It's blindingly bright. A pair of UV protection sunglasses is definitely in order.

Why do people wear sunglasses? There's lots of reasons, including:
You want to be a movie star and they all wear sunglasses.

You're looking to hide behind a big, dark pair of sunglasses, and travel unseen through the streets.

A little espionage, eh!?

You want to make a fashion statement.

And, Oh yes.... A few of us wear sunglasses to protect our eyes from the harmful rays of the sun.

Did you know? Sunglasses protect your eyes from harmful UV rays. Your Optician will tell you that sunglasses with UV protection, will help to avoid cataracts. They also report that UV rays can be stronger in the winter, as the sun's rays hit you on the way down....and as it is reflected back up from the snow.

Enjoy Sunglasses Day with a shady, mysterious and fashionable pair of sunglasses.
