Frozen Fog ~ Creamy Bacon Potatoes ~ Alyssa Santisteven ~ Cupcake Day

Good  32º super foggy morning.... again!

Stayed frozen yesterday until 1pm, when the fog cleared and then we topped at 47º.

I ran a quick errand to the post office to mail off some Christmas stuff. Thank goodness for heated steering wheel and heated seats!

Now, I know you will say that canned potatoes are not on your list, but wait. Try this recipe and you will be awed and amazed!

4  15oz cans sliced potatoes, drained
2  10.75 oz cans cream of celery soup
16 oz container of sour cream
10 slices of bacon, cooked crispy and crumbled
Optional: green onions, thinly sliced

1. Put the potatoes in the bottom of a 6qt crock pot
2. Mix together the soup, sour cream, and bacon
3. Spoon over potatoes and stir gently
4. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours
5. Serve topped with green onion slices, if desired

Phil & Suzanne Santisteven (LASD ret) are celebrating their daughter, Alyssa's birthday today. HAPPY 19th  BIRTHDAY ALYSSA!

Historically this date.....

1791 – The United States Bill of Rights becomes law when ratified by the Virginia General Assembly.

1973 – John Paul Getty III, grandson of American billionaire J. Paul Getty, is found alive near Naples, Italy]], after being kidnapped by an Italian gang on July 10, 1973.
After the trauma of his ear being cut off, he suffered emotionally and was in a self induced drug coma and later suffered paralysis.

1973 – The American Psychiatric Association votes 13–0 to remove homosexuality from its official list of psychiatric disorders, the DSM-II.

1978 – U.S. President Jimmy Carter announces that the United States will recognize the People's Republic of China and cut off all relations with Taiwan

2001 – The Leaning Tower of Pisa reopens after 11 years and $27,000,000 to fortify it, without fixing its famous lean.

And births this date include
1892 – J. Paul Getty, American oil tycoon (d. 1976)
... amazing his grandson was found on his birthday!

1918 – Jeff Chandler, American actor (d. 1961)

1949 – Don Johnson, American actor
Man oh man, his "marriages" and associations with women are something else!

Later dinner was an Omaha Steaks breaded veal patty (cooked in air fryer after thawing at 370º for 14 minutes, drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with Lawry's Garlic salt) and green beans with yam. A little of my sweet/hot chili sauce on the side.

Then it was chair, wine, and TV... NCIS Miami, NCIS Los Angeles, and NYPD Blue

All I know. Nuff said. Happy TGIF. Ciao.
