Good 54º clear sunny morning.
At 5:34 this morning, it was 53.4º ! LOL....
Today "Summer Begins". It's the first day of summer, aka the Summer
Solstice, or the longest day of the year!

Another reason I live in Oregon!
Yesterday morning, first thing, I took Dude to the vet's for
his teeth cleaning. Since he was to be sedated he couldn't have anything to eat
after 6pm the night before. So, that meant no treat first thing when he went out
in the morning and no breakfast. OMGOSH, he looked at me like I didn't love him
or he had done something bad. Poor guy!!
When I got back home after dropping Dude at the vet's, the
pest control guy came by. Of course there was no Dude to bark, so I didn't even
know he was here until he knocked on the door. I nearly jumped out of my skin!
Later the Schwan's guy, Sean, dropped off my recent order.
All those veggies! Barely got them all in the freezer!
Today is a special birthday, my friend and wife of Steve Voors
(LASD ret), Barbara.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BARB!!!!

I was watching one of my favorite shows, My Cat From Hell, with Jackson Galaxy (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1933073/) about a couple in Sherman Oaks that have 5 cats, one is blind. The husband, Eric, looked so familiar then it dawned on me it was Eric Roberts, actor and brother of Julia Roberts! (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000616/?ref_=tt_ov_st_sm)
Their home was nice, but not one you'd expect to be owned by one of
Hollywood's own. And right on a busy street .... Anyway, Jackson told them since
their blind cat runs away for prolonged periods of time they needed to fence in
part of their yard. They thought the blind one was staying away because of two
kittens they got. Well, Jackson fixed that and they got the fence up. Their
other cats are indoor/outdoor cats also and they would leave doors open, even the front door, for them
to come and go. HUH? Open doors???
Really interesting fencing. If I ever move and still have Bruiser I would
get one of these!
Later I picked some packages at the post office and then picked up Dude
from the vet's. The vet said he is in great shape and health. One of the
assistants brought him out to the lobby and Dude saw me and dragged her!!! He
was sooooooooo happy to get to go home! He got his treat this morning and is
looking forward to breakfast!
Last evening I had a super great phone chat with Bill Riordan (LASD ret)
who worked at Temple with Jerry and gang. It's so nice to stay in touch. Lots of
great memories of deputies we worked with and good times. He recently had lunch
with Steve Voors (1030 Dude) and Pete Loomis (Loom Loom). Thanks for the call
Bill!
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Hump Day. Ciao.

National Peaches & Cream Day
Peaches and whipped cream, peaches and cream, peaches and ice cream? Even
sour cream! YUMMMM
We had a freestone peach tree in our backyard when I was growing up. OMGOSH
they were SOOOOOO good. Fresh picked off the tree and gobbled down!
Five Food Finds about Peaches & Cream:
- Did you know? Peaches were once known as Persian apples.
