Creamy Chicken & Vegetables ~ Left or Right ~ Cat In Box ~ Clintoon's Nap ~ Tamales & Corn ~ Raspberry Cream Pie

Good 48º clear sunny morning. Topped at  93º yesterday.

Can you believe it's the first of August already???
Jerry and I moved into this house on this date 1998. What a change from the hustle and bustle of Southern California!

Ok, here's a super good easy one pot dinner perfect for summer, as you cook it in your crock pot. A fav of mine.
Creamy Chicken and Vegetables

6 boneless skinless chicken thighs
2.5 pounds of new redskin potatoes or Yukon gold, cut into bite size pieces
salt and pepper to taste
16 oz mini peeled carrots

½ cup sliced green onions
1 bunch of asparagus, trimmed and cut into thirds
2 10 oz cans cream of mushroom soup
½ cup milk
1. Place chicken in crock pot and top with potatoes
2. Sprinkle on salt and pepper (I use garlic salt)
3. Add the carrots and green onions, mix gently
4. Add asparagus on top
5. Salt and pepper again, if needed
6. Whisk together soup and milk in separate bowl and pour over everything.
7. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
I like to add in some chopped garlic cloves also.

Origin of Left and Right ....
Do you wonder why Conservatives are called "right-wing" and Liberals are called "left-wing"?
Interestingly enough, here is a Bible verse explaining that:
Ecclesiastes 10:2
"The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left."
Thus sayeth the Lord.  Amen.

I spent a lot of the day taking the videos off my iPhone so it would clear up space. Then Dude and I took the trash to the road when it was still cool enough for him to run. By 1pm it was 87º.

Yesterday Bruiser napped in a box.....

This is a crack up...... Boy is Bill Clintoon fascinated by and supportive of his wife's DNC acceptance speech:

Cocktail time last night was Sorrento Lemon Vodka on the rocks. Sooooooooo refreshing!

Dinner was a couple tamales I rescued from the freezer and thawed. Next cleaned off some ears of corn. The tamales went into the Air Fryer for a few minutes and the corn ...

I put pomegranate mayo on the corn and green salsa on the tamales...

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Monday. Ciao.

National Raspberry Cream Pie Day

National Raspberry Cream Pie Day is perfect for raspberry lovers.
Raspberries are one of the gems of summer. Sweet and tasty, it is loved by millions of people (and birds, too!) With the arrival of ripe berries, it is time to make and enjoy some of your favorite dessert treats. High on the list for raspberry lovers, is raspberry cream pie.

Make this a super raspberry day. Go out and pick your own berries. Then, make a raspberry cream pie. Better still, make one for you, and another to give away to a family member, a neighbor, or a friend. Then, dig in and eat a piece of pie....Yummmm!
