Temperatures ~ Picture of the Day ~ Strange Attraction ~ Creamy Cucumber Salad ~ National Eat What You Want Day

Good 45º clear sunny morning.

Yesterday out temperatures climbed again from 70º at 10am to 86º at 2pm and topped at 96º at 5pm. Dude and Bruiser were happy in the cool house!

Picture of the Day ... perfectly timed

Interesting...
From a list of "strangest attractions" I found this...
Florida
> Strangest attraction: World’s Smallest Police Station
> Year built: 1963
> Location: U.S. Highway 98, Carrabelle
> Closest city: Tallahassee
The World’s Smallest Police Station that stands on U.S. Highway 98 is a replica of the original phone booth that served as department’s call box. Remember, those were pre-cell phone days, and calls would come to one location. The previous phone was bolted to the outside of a building. Standing inside the booth provided protection when it rained.

From the Slow Roasted Italian....
Creamy Cucumber Salad

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 large cucumbers, sliced (about 6 cups)
  • 1/2 red onion, sliced
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the mayo, sour cream, lemon juice, lemon zest, dill and garlic powder. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
