Yesterday out temperatures climbed again from 70º at 10am to 86º at 2pm and topped at 96º at 5pm. Dude and Bruiser were happy in the cool house!

The World’s Smallest Police Station that stands on U.S. Highway 98 is a replica of the original phone booth that served as department’s call box. Remember, those were pre-cell phone days, and calls would come to one location. The previous phone was bolted to the outside of a building. Standing inside the booth provided protection when it rained.
From the Slow Roasted Italian....
Creamy Cucumber Salad
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice (from about 1 lemon)
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- salt and pepper to taste
- 3 large cucumbers, sliced (about 6 cups)
- 1/2 red onion, sliced
- In a large bowl, whisk together the mayo, sour cream, lemon juice, lemon zest, dill and garlic powder. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add the chopped cucumbers and red onion to the creamy dressing.
- Stir until cucumbers are well coated.
- Serve immediately or chill until ready to serve.
