Good 34º, ice on the barn roof, morning. Some fog at sunrise..
Yesterday the clouds were still up there, but the sun came through.. and we
hit a super pleasant 74º! Wow, a 40º difference in 15 hours!
The deer were out and enjoying it...
And Dude was loving it!!!!
Enjoy today's sun, as rain is predicted for tomorrow.
On this day in 1974 I went on my first date with Jerry. Awwww.... he was
sooooooooooo nice. Fell in love immediately! Both of us!! He wined me and dined
me with lobster. He told me so many funny stories my cheeks hurt from laughing.
From that day we were never apart. He moved in, we got married in 1975.
I so miss you Dew!!!
Throw Back Thursday.... 6 years after we married.. 1981:
LOL, now if we did this today ..... I'd be at the front of the line!
Yesterday our Century Link phone guy, Bob Jiles, came by. Our neighbors
phone wasn't working and he said there was an open line...
Bruiser inspected his truck... but wouldn't stay up on top once I came out
with the camera!
Bob also had to work on the pole wayyyyyyy down at the edge of my
property...
He got his workout! Said he's going to probably retire in a couple years. DANG! The
BEST phone guy ever!!!! You will be missed Bob!
Then Brian came over to pick up my smoker.....
Dustin & Ashley, owners of The Vine in Grants Pass, want to do a wine
paring gathering at their restaurant and he wanted to smoke some meat. Brian
told him I said he could borrow my smoker and see how that worked for him. It's
electric and works awesome!

Dinner was this new item I got to try... got both at Costco..
The veggie cake ingredients are:carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, kkale,
onion, red bell pepper, zucchini, brown rice, egg whites, whole eggs, canola
oil, corn starch, spice mix (tomato powder, dehydrated onion citric acid, and
spices), sugar, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper. They can be cooked in the
microwave or oven. I tried a couple for lunch in the microwave.
OMGOOOOOOD!!!!!!!
And, lobster tails (to celebrate my first date with Jerry)
The easiest way to cook lobster was taught to me by my nephew Jimmy who had
been a cook at a restaurant for a time in Tahoe..... pull the meat out of the
shell by making a cut down the entire length of the shell on top.
Put the meat on top of the shell, brush with clarified butter and sprinkle
with paprika.
Bake 400º 15-18 minutes.
Later... chair, wine, chats with girlfriends on the phone, and Chicago PD
and Chicago Fire.
All I know. Nuff said. Happy TBT. Ciao.
