There's no excuse to skip breakfast anymore! Our On-the-Go Breakfast Pockets are just as good at the breakfast table as they are on-the-run. A buttery, flaky crust and a cheesy hot filling make these an "A+" morning option.
- 3 eggs
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 (8-ounce) can crescent rolls
- 4 thin slices deli ham
- 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Preheat oven to 375º. In a medium bowl, whisk eggs, water, salt, and pepper.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add egg mixture and cook 1 to 2 minutes, or until set, stirring occasionally.
- Separate crescent rolls into 4 rectangles, and pinch perforations together. Top each rectangle with a slice of ham, then spoon egg evenly on top half of rectangle; sprinkle with cheese. Fold dough over filling, pressing edges to seal.
- Place on baking sheet and bake 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve immediately.
***Make these ahead of time for busy mornings! All you have to do is wrap them up and pop them in the freezer. When you're ready for one, just take it out and heat!

Date When Celebrated : This holiday is always held on August 27
Today is Just Because Day. Finally, you have a chance to do something without a rhyme or reason. Most often in life, we do things because we have to, or we want to, or it's expected of us. None of those reasons apply today.
Is there something you'd like to do, but there isn't a reason or logic for doing it? Well, today is the day to go out and do something "just because". It is most enjoyable if it is an uncommon, or unexpected activity or action. Perhaps, you have something in mind. If not, just go with the first thing that comes to your mind. "Just because" activities often come from a "whim" or a "what if I" type of thought. We know you will quickly get the hang of this day, and have a lot of fun with it.
To get you started, here are some of our suggestions for Just Because Day :
- Take an unplanned day of vacation
- Visit someone you haven't seen in a while
- Knock on someone's door and compliment them for their great lawn
- Skip, don't walk
- Spin a wheel, and bicycle in the opposite direction of where the arrow points.
- Buy something you don't need.
- Jump in a puddle
- Walk backwards
Here is a great idea- send someone some flowers- - "just because".
Thought for the Day: Did you ever feel like you've had too much wine? .... Yeah, me neither.
History and Origin of Just Because Day :
Our research did not find the creator, or the origin of this day. But, we think this can be one of the best, most fun days of the year! Why!? ..Just because.
Reader Comments:
"The original version of Just Because Day may be a movable holiday called Because Day that was first celebrated on the third Wednesday in May. It was invented in the late fifties or early sixties, by my father, Joseph J. Goodwin of Los Gatos, CA. He turned the gift of a transistor radio for my mother into our own family holiday. It wasn't so much about a radio as it was about celebrating life, free afternoons, and family. My sister assured me on my last visit that she passed the tradition on to her family." B. Lynn Goodwin
