Good 45º too dark to see if it's cloudy yet
morning. (Probably is!)
Last night's football...
So............... time to take down the Fall decorations and
put up some Christmas ones. My Fall decorations consisted of a wreath on the
door and mini pumpkins around in several places. First, deal with the mini
pumpkins... Let's roast them.. for mini treats.
Cutting the top off the first one didn't go so well. Not a big
enough cut... The next one was deeper. I scraped out the seeds with a
melon-baller. Worked great.
Only three ingredients go into each pumpkin... 1 t. brown
sugar, 1/2 t. butter, and a pinch of ground cinnamon.
Put the sugar/butter/cinnamon in each and put top on. Then put
water in the pan, about 1/2 way up the pumpkins.
350º for 1 hour.
REALLY tasty~!!!!!!
I washed the little seeds really well and dried with a towel,
pulling off the remains of the scrapings. Then I tossed them in a bowl with
olive oil and sea salt. Baked at 300º on a cookie sheet for 40 minutes, shaking
and scraping the pan at the end of 20 minutes. YUMMY!!!! They didn't last long..
what with football and wine...
My Christmas decorations are minimal. No tree... a wreath on the front
door, a snow sign on a birdhouse, a wreath with lights in the house, and a Teddy
Bear in a Christmas cup that looks exactly like the one my Aunt Agnes gave me
when I was born!

Christmas Card Day
(last years.....)
I did get my first Christmas Card already!! (Thanks Mo!)
Christmas
Card Day, honors Sir Henry Cole (1818 - 1874) of England. Cole created the
first commercial Christmas Card in 1843.
Just
a few decades ago, sending Christmas cards through the mail was a holiday
"must". Sending cards through the mail continues to be very popular. The cost
and time for writing and sending cards has caused many people to stop sending
them. Free Ecards have surged in popularity. Animated Christmas and seasonal
Ecards have made sending and receiving them a lot of fun.
Today
is a good day to send out your Christmas cards and holiday greetings. If you
have yet to do so, use today to get a
start.
