Good 45º foggy cloudy morning.
Yesterday the rain started up again in the morning and
continued on and off .... we got another 3/4"of rain.
It came down hard at times and the turkeys were trying to take cover under
bushes... but their skills at that are sadly lacking!
Bruiser got bored so he went "climbing" on top of the cabinet
with Jerry's movie star hat collection on top....
^ That is the hat, with fake sweat, worn by Steve McQueen in Tom Horn.

National Homemade Soup Day
OK, so yesterday with all the gloom and rain I decided to make soup, one
day ahead. I had a tray of mixed veggies (carrots, broccoli, cabbage, red onion,
red/green bell pepper, mushrooms, and slices of summer & zucchini squash...
Broccoli slaw, bacon crumbles, celery, and cream of chicken soup:
... also chicken stock, pulled pork (from Costco...sooooo good, just pork
and water) and fine (angel hair pasta size) egg noodles...
First I sauteéd the broccoli slaw and celery in olive oil with garlic
salt.. then dumped that in the pot with 3 1qt. containers of chicken
stock..
Next I sauteéd the bell pepper, red onion, and mushrooms and into the pot
they went.
Next I added in the rest of the veggie tray and the pulled pork ... cooked
and drained the noodles and added them.
I set the pot on medium heat and left it for an hour, adding in the cream
of chicken soup after an hour and resetting the heat to low until I was ready to
eat.
WOW, great soup!!!!
