.... What a
voice! We had a Deputy at Lakewood Station who could immitate that same voice
and when he was dispatching he'd make his announcements in his Barry White
voice! Too fun....
Headed into Grants Pass yesterday noon-ish ... Just love some of the
clouds...
But the smoke was back in....
It was haircut day, but first met up with Jennifer at The Climate for
lunch..
Jennifer had a 'wedge salad' (lettuce wedge, tomato, red onion,
peppered bacon, and smoked blue cheese dressing) and a humongous 'bacon burger'
(seasoned 1/2 pound beef burger topped with crispy bacon, smoked mozzarella,
shredded lettuce, tomato, sweet and spicy pickles and fried onions on a toasted
parmesan bun!)
I had the Spinach Arugula and Roasted Beet salad (baby spinach, arugula,
roasted beats, candied pecans, fresh mozzarella, sun-dried cherries, and roasted
apple vinaigrette) and the Smoked Salmon Roasted Corn Chowder (house smoked
salmon, sweet roasted corn, bacon, onion, celery, carrot and fresh herbs
simmered in a rich cream)
OMG, all of it was sooooooooooooooooooooo good. GOING back SOON!!!! On the
18th they will come out with their "pumpkin ale". Gotta try that. Sounds
wonderful. SOW Sistas, you ready to try this???
On top of great food the servers were so nice and efficient.. Jenny and the
hostess Wendy. The GM, Mike, came over and talked to us. He's really doing a
good job. Thanks Mike.
Next was my hair cut and fun chat with Leah my hairdresser pal at Sheer
Perfection up at 1457 NE 6th Street (541-479-0018) owned by Candy (who is very
fun and NICE!)
When I was just about to leave, Leah's BF Jordan came by. The Sow Sistas
met him out at Schmidt Winery on one of our outings. Neat guy!
Anyway, so left there, stopped at Brian's office, and then the post office,
and the bank. Home at last. Dude and Bruiser were happy. I was gone a long time!
Some snacks, wine, conversations with Jennifer about the lunch and a chat
with my pal Linda down in Woodland.
Sunset was wild (from all the smoke!)
15 minutes apart...
I was outside taking pictures and Bruiser was accessing his next
move.
TV, news, asleep in the chair!
Bruise was bad, didn't come in. I went to bed and woke at 1:30. There he
was on the porch sleeping on Dude's porch bed!
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Saturday. Ciao.

September 12th
National Chocolate Milkshake Day
(Oh man, I can taste it already!!!)
Chocolate Milkshake Day is
an opportunity for chocoholoics to savor. The weather may have cooled off. But,
our appetite for chocolate, specifically chocolate milkshakes, hasn't cooled off
one iota.
What a great day this will be! Simply combine a little milk with some
chocolate ice cream, add some extra chocolate syrup, and mix it well in a
blender. That's the fixins for mixin up a big, tall glass of chocolate
milkshake.
On a diet? Not today. A lot of people celebrate Chocolate Milkshake Day with not one,
but two or more chocolate milkshakes.
Bottoms up!
