Good 43º morning.
Yesterday the rain was on and off. We ended up with just
1/10". Lots of wind.
Here is a recipe from a few years back... shared by pal Steve Geon (Wilson 1964 and retired LAPD)... This is good!!!
EASY TORTILLA SOUP:
Original recipe makes 6 servings
1 (15 ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained ( I substitute Trader Joe's Corn Salsa)
2 (14.5 ounce) cans chicken broth (you should have extra can on hand in case you want more broth)
1 (10 ounce) can chunk chicken (I buy the rotisserie chicken)
1 (15 ounce) can black beans (drained)
1 diced avocado, onion, cilantro and oregano to add to soup as desired
1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chile peppers, drained
Directions
1. Open the cans of corn, chicken broth, chunk chicken, black beans, and diced tomatoes with green chilies. Pour everything into a large saucepan or stock pot. Simmer over medium heat until chicken is heated through.
2. Crumble Tortilla chips into bowl and pour soup over it.
3. Have diced avocado, onions, oregano, and cilantro to flavor as desired.

Later yesterday I went into town to pick up a package at the post office, prescription at pharmacy, and cracked corn at ACE. I had called the company that installed my gate and said the "out" button didn't work. I was told it would cost me $110 to have someone come out. I then asked how I could fix it. He told me about the battery compartment and how to do everything. So I took it all apart with my trusty drill...
At Ace Bobby helped me find the right battery. Came home and put it all
back together. Works perfect!!! Battery cost me all of $2.99!!! Wow, a savings
of $107.01 !!!
Last night dinner was an experiment that turned out WONDERFUL. Will share it tomorrow!
Wine Poem by Sue
I like to drink wine,
But, for that, I won't stand in line.
I like to eat fish,
And white wine goes with that dish.
When eating a steak,
Drink Cabernet for Heaven's sake!
I don't drink wine in my car,
Because the jail would not be far!
I like some wines in a box,
Which some of my hoity friends view as unorthodox!
Sipping wine slowly is the best,
And it so good when you can at the same time, rest.
So much for the wine poetry day,
Guess I'll go get a glass of my favorite Chardonnay nay!
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday. Ciao.
