Good 55º clear and sunny morning. Hit 93º yesterday and supposed to be
warmer, triple digits, today. Joy.
Today is the 5th.....
I'll take the 5th. Or......... I'll take a 5th! Either way....
Another one of Helbing's blonde man jokes:
A friend told the blonde man: "Christmas is on a Friday this year."
The blonde man then said, "Let's hope it's not the 13th."
The blonde man then said, "Let's hope it's not the 13th."
I got a new sign...
Dave and PJ came up and he fixed my riding lawnmower. It had a broken fuel
line. Yeah! Now I can get out there at 6am and mow! Zowie!
I put up a new USMC flag yesterday. I have a telescoping flagpole and the
last part came down so hard on my thumb I thought it cut it off! OUCH!!!! Black
and blue now. Next time I will get a Marine to come over and put up the flag. I'm such a girl and that pole is sooooooooooo heavy!
About 3pm I went over to Dave and Nancy's. Her sister and bro-in-law are up
here from CA, Margie and Jimmy. I took some wine and Nancy made a table full of
munchies. Dave has been working hard on their new porch and steps. Looks so nice!
They have chickens and Nancy gave me a dozen eggs and some of her FAMOUS AWESOME
biscotti! I took Skeeter a treat and she loved it... she's such a sweetie!
Now here's a good sounding easy fruit salad from my friend Trish.....
1 29 oz can peach slices
1 20 oz can pineapple chunks
1 pound strawberries, quartered
1 banana sliced
1/2 pint blueberries
1 bunch grapes (red or green)
1-2 T sugar (optional)
1 pkg (3 1/8 oz) dry vanilla instant pudding
In large bowl combine peaches, pineapple and vanilla pudding
mix. This includes the juices from the cans. Mix well until pudding is
dissolved. Stir in strawberries, banana, blueberries, grapes, and sugar if
desired. Chill
The birds were busy feeding their young yesterday.... well, as every
day!
Bluebird....
Barn Swallow.....
LBB....(Little brown birdie... sparrow!)
... and then there's Mr. Woodpecker feeding himself..
I came home from Dave and Nancy's, fixed dinner, watched some TV. Watched
the Capitol 4th from DC. John Williams and the orchestra was good. Patti Labelle
was awful and so was Frankie Valli, Jordin Sparks (whoever she is), and Michael
McDonald (yuck). The one I really liked was Sara Evans. She didn't slobber all
over the microphone and sang loud enough to hear and enunciated her words so
understandable! The fireworks were fabulous!
Went to bed and then the gunshots started. Fortunately they didn't last all
that long. Probably 40-50 rounds fired.
Idiots!
