Clouds/Rain ~ Caesar Salad ~ Frontier Chicken & Noodle Casserole ~ Mary & Gil Zavala ~ Oatmeal Cookies

Good 44º cloudy morning.

Yesterday we had clouds.
Noon-ish I was leaving to take the trash to the road for pickup and we got 12 or 6 raindrops. Then after I got back it started POURING!!!
Whew.... just missed it. That lasted all of 10 minutes!
Bruiser was just sittin' on the glider watching it all.

Then another hour goes by and it pours again.
Then the sun comes out.
An hour later it pours again for 10 minutes. Then sun. This went on all day!!!
We got a total of 1/2".

Someone posted this on Taprock's FB page... "patio dining" yesterday.... LOL!

Interesting....
There’s nothing like going into a really fancy restaurant , look over the huge menu and… settle for a salad. Caesar salad.

Then you think to yourself – Caesar salad. If the great roman Julius Caesar ate it, so can I. Well, sorry to break to to you – but the Caesar Salad was actually invented by an Italian Immigrant living in Mexico, who named it after himself.

Caesar Cardini, Was operating restaurants in Mexico and the United States. He was living in San Diego but was working in Tijuana , since he had to avoid the Prohibition restrictions of those years.
This famous dish was invented during the depletion of the kitchen’s supplies in the 4th of July, 1924.  He had to use what he have and came up with it.

Four your convenience, the official recipe for the Caesar Salad:
  • Olive oil
  • romaine or cos lettuce
  • fresh crushed garlic
  • salt to taste
  • fresh-ground black pepper
  • wine vinegar
  • lemon juice or lime juice – fresh squeezed
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • raw or coddled eggyolks
  • freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • freshly prepared croutons
Bon Appetit

National Oatmeal Cookie Day is observed each year on April 30.  This day is also often recognized on March 18 in conjunction with National Lacy Oatmeal Cookie Day. Oatmeal cookies have been around since the 1800s.  The cookies quickly became popular, and by early the 1900s a recipe for the delicious treats appeared on containers of Quaker Oats.  Oatmeal cookies are also considered a health food because they are an excellent source of iron and fiber.  Just another reason to have an oatmeal cookie today!

Today is also National Bugs Bunny Day. What's up doc?

And it's also Hairstylist Appreciation Day

And also Adopt A Shelter Pet Day
OMGOSH, this little guy looks just like Dash!!
