Good 41º, burrrrrrr, morning! 62º in here and contemplating turning on the heater!!! Coffee is good.... mmmm.... warm....
...Ok, there, I turned on the heat! I know. Wuss.
Yesterday I was still in the back recovery mode... so I sat in my chair with an ice pack all day. NOTHING was on TV but football and golf. Irritating football scores:
MY Pats lost to Bills by 3
Kristen's Jets lost to Raiders (Boooooo) by 10
Brian's Colts lost to Steelers by 3
Suzanne's Bears lost to Packers by 10
Ha Ha Ha, Al's Lambs lost to Ravens by 30!and Cliff's Chargers won the Chiefs by 3
So, after all that excitement I found a movie that sounded like it MIGHT be good. "The Other Guys" with Mark Wahlberg (nice) ... Will Farrell, Michael Keaton , Damon Wayans Jr, Derek Jeter , Samuel L Jackson , Dwayne Johnson, and Eva Mendes . Sounds like it might be real good, eh? OMG, what a piece of junk. Another shi**y movie!!! Geesh. This one I didn't pay for so I didn't have to watch the whole thing. Stupid stupid stupid. At least it wasn't vulgar and rude and crude like Bridesmaids!
Hungry, so I fixed dinner. Opened and heated a can of Progresso Minestrone soup, added about a cup of tomato soup, a half cup of couscous, and 4 small fresh tomatoes quartered and quartered again, garlic, onions, and spices. GOOD!!!!
It was windy all day. Cloudy. AND no rain came my way!
2pm and 6pm:
Historically this date...
1687 – The Parthenon in Athens is partially destroyed by an explosion caused by the bombing from Venetian forces led by Morosini who are besieging the Ottoman Turks stationed in Athens.
This in 2009. Reconstruction of the area started in ernest in 1975. It had been destroyed a couple of times and reconstruction efforts were poor, at best. Now with more technology it is being taken care of. What a treat to be there and see and touch so much history! (P.S. Very windy up on the Acropolis!)
1789 – Thomas Jefferson is appointed the first United States Secretary of State, John Jay is appointed the first Chief Justice of the United States, Samuel Osgood is appointed the first United States Postmaster General, and Edmund Randolph is appointed the first United States Attorney General.
.... Daddy was a Shriner. I have his fez with the Al Malaikah Shrine emblem.
The Al Malaika Shrine is in Los Angeles ... Along with the Shriner's Children's Hospital and the Shrine Auditorium.
1960 – In Chicago, the first televised debate takes place between presidential candidates Richard M. Nixon and John F. Kennedy.
1997 – An earthquake strikes the Italian regions of Umbria and the Marche, causing part of the Basilica of St. Francis at Assisi to collapse.
And births this date include....
OMG
