Good 63º OMGOSH foggy morning!!! Certainly didn't expect this!
Yesterday I met up with Brian and family for brunch at Taprock. We sat on the deck overlooking the Rogue River. It was getting warm, but we had shade. I got there early and imbibbed in a mimosa.
The Hellsgate Jet Boats filled up and took off...
Tucker and Sami stayed busy, he with his Sedoku games and Sami was busy
with her art work..
Nice sitting out there while it was still a tad on the cooler side....
I had my favorite, veggie omelette. I wanted another mimosa and our
waitress, Brandy, said they had run out of the champagne flutes so she brought
me a "double" in a wine glass!
OMGOSH!
Coming home our Rogue River has their annual Rooster Crow, so there was a
car show and booths for items on sale and food and there was a band setting up
in the park..
I would have gone if it hadn't been so hot. By then it was
90º.
Came home and got all the trash to the road and the trash cans out,
including a neighbor's who had gone for the weekend. Back in the AC cooled
house. Ahhhhhhhhhh..........................................

On Carnival Eats, Noah had a "deep fried Margarita". I immediately thought of you Trish! This sounded really good...
This was at the Vancouver BC Fair. The batter was flour, sugar, and a flour
like secret blend with a slight light orange color. Then he added in about a cup
of tequila and some water. He had pound cake he cut in to "shot" squares and
dipped in the batter and deep fried. Rubbed lime on edge of cup, coated rim with
sugar. He sprayed more tequila on the cooked cake cubes and sprinkled with
powdered sugar.
Here is a recipe I found on line:
Later, it was just another hot day and did nothing! About noon
it started getting real cloudy and the sun disappeared. Actually cooler than
Saturday. By 3pm we were only 95º but LOUD LOUD thunder!!! Scared the heqq out
of Dude! And dark clouds.
Then it started raining!! Only lasted a few minutes. The in another 30
minutes more thunder. REALLY close and shook the house! Then news said this
storm had over 1000 lightening strikes!
Had a call from my pal, Sugar Bear, and she said lightening had hit behind
Elaine's house and started a fire. GP Fire was on it. Also, over 1000 people
without power in Jacksonville and Talent. Ours flickered once, but thankfully
stayed on.
Finally the thunder stopped and the rain. By nearly 8pm we had a pretty
sunset...
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Monday. Ciao.

National Chocolate Pudding Day
Five Food Finds about Pudding:
- Originally a British dish, this pudding could be made on very short notice.
- Ingredients vary, but it was basically a sweetened porridge made from flour, tapioca or oatmeal and milk. The term originated in the late 16th century.
- In Colonial America cornmeal was cheaper and more readily available, so here, Hasty Pudding was a cornmeal mush (cornmeal added to boiling water and cooked) with molasses, honey, brown sugar or maple syrup and milk.
- There are both savory and dessert versions of this dish.
- An example of a savory version would be a meat pudding.
