Good 40ยบ RAINING morning! Not supposed to be raining, but the
weather has a mind of it's own and doesn't listen to those weather
people!
Glad I'm not going over the summit today....
Yesterday was one of those over the top exciting days....
Clean the house, do dishes, wash clothes, etc etc etc..... Let the dog out, let
the cat in, let the dog in, let the cat out...you get it!
PICTURE OF THE DAY:
Eurasian Lynx in Bavarian Forest, Germany...
Here is an awesome video. John Wayne did a variety show on the
4th of July in 1970 saluting America. It's great to watch no matter how many
times you have seen it. I LOVE this!!!
So many of these folks are gone now. That part is sad, but
even though the eyes got cleaned out, my heart swelled with pride!
Historically this date...
.... LOVE riding those!!!
1958 – "Greatest Game
Ever Played" – Baltimore Colts defeat the New York Giants in the first ever National Football
League sudden death overtime game at New York's Yankee Stadium.
..... wow, Johnny Unitas vs Frank
Gifford and Pat Summerall!
2000 – U.S. retail giant Montgomery Ward announces it is going out of business after
128 years.
...........sad sad sad day!! "Monkey
Wards" a fav place to shop!
And births this date
include....
1856 – Woodrow Wilson, American politician, 28th President of the United
States, Nobel Prize laureate (d. 1924)
... plays himself on Big Bang
Theory....
1934 – Dame Maggie Smith, British actress
1954 – Denzel Washington, American actor
1972 – Adam
Vinatieri, American

...only kicker to win 5 SuperBowl
rings... 4 with Patriots and 1 with Colts. (Brian and I shared!)
.... and it was 4 years ago today
Kristen Alex and Jack lost their little love dog, Oreo. RIP Oreo. You were the
sweetest!
Oreo was a rescue dog and lived out the
rest her life in the best possible way with lots of love and
care.
Sunday Football ....
Interesting.. Kristen's Jets vs Alex's Dolphins!
The Lambs and the SeaChickens! And, my Patriots and the BillyBoy's. Brian
and Tucker's Broncos are playing the Raiders (Boooooo). Go Broncos!!! Coach
Harbaugh of the 9ers is outta there after today's game. Going to coach at
Michigan, his alma mater! And Coach Ryan of the Jets is taking a hike also.
(Yeah!)
Wasn't in the mood to cook, so dinner was popcorn, butter, and
cheese!
Projects at hand.... stack wood on porch (after cleaning it off), see if
lawnmower will start, see if I can fix the electric gate.... Probably not much
will get done if this rain keeps up!
Need to cook tonight! Thinking of a stir-fry... veggies, crab,
either gnocchi or pasta or Raman noodles.... We'll see.
All I know. Happy Football Sunday. Nuff said.
Ciao.

Card Playing Day
Card
Playing Day is the perfect time to
spend an hour or so playing cards with family and friends. And, it arrives at
just the perfect time of year........ a few days after Christmas. The holiday
hustle and bustle is over. The kids are getting bored of their new toys. It's
time to turn to card games for a calmer, relaxing, and more slow-paced form of
fun and entertainment.
Enter
the world of card games. Cards have survived for centuries as a form of "play"
and entertainment. Sure, there are a few serious gambling types among us, who
view cards a serious "business". To most of us, card games are just
....games.
Spend
the day playing cards with family and friends. If you have kids, make sure to
play some age appropriate card games with them. You'll find its quality time
with the kids that will create many warm memories.
Happy
Card Playing Day. Now "go fish", "hit me", "double", and "I'll raise you
two!".
It's
also NATIONAL CHOCOLATE CANDY DAY!
Chocolate. Who doesn’t enjoy the melody of
those three syllables? The
history of chocolate began right here in the Americas: The cacao tree first grew
wild in the tropical rainforests of the Amazon basin. Our word chocolate comes from the Azteccacahuatl,
based on the earlier Maya word xocoatl
So.............set up the card table and enjoy some chocolates along with the card games!
