Good 37ยบ foggy morning.
Here is Grants Pass again.... totally fogged in..
"Chance" of rain tomorrow. Sun did come out again yesterday. Warmed up a
lot. Left the front and dining room doors open for the most part. Then got cold
when the sun went down so had a fire in the wood stove! Bruiser down by the
stove and Dude keeping his distance!
Yesterday was "hurry up and accomplish nothing day"! Sigh...
First on the list was letting Dude out to do his "thing" after breakfast. He
normally runs up into the trees, does "it" and runs back. Nope. Not yesterday. I
waited and waited. Called and whistled. Finally I see him. He's on the other
property on the other side of a fence. Swell. I put my little Nikon camera in my
pocket, got in the golf cart, and headed up towards the pond. Just past the pond
he appeared. Screeeech. Made a quick turn and headed back to the house, Dude
running next to me. Got back and no camera in pocket! YIKES. I figured it
slipped out when I made that quick turn around. Went back. Yep, there it was.
RELIEF!!! In the pond was Mr. and Mrs. Mallard...
The water is back. Yeah. Because of the draught it was looking
just about empty even though it's fed by an underground spring. Guess there
wasn't any water in the spring! Now it's filled again.
Then there was a big commotion... geese honking and turkeys gobbling. I
counted 23 Canadian Geese out there, some on the barn roof. There had to be 20+
Wild Texas Turkeys in the pasture...
Eventually all 23 of the geese were on the barn roof!
My video skills are not the best, but this will give you an idea..

Dinner tonight was supposed to be the Elk's All You Can Eat
Crab Feed.
Not.
Brian called and said it was in the paper yesterday the feed
had been canceled due to lack of crab. Apparently the crabbers can't find any as
the earthquakes along the Oregon coast have chased them off~! DANG! Was
soooooooooooo looking forward to that dinner. Also disappointed were the rest of the group... Dee & Dale, Kathy & Tom, Jennifer & Mike....
I always take the "tools" for the crab... scissors, crab crackers, and picks. They all get washed in the dishwasher and then purified in rubbing alcohol.
I found a long time ago that instead of "cracking" the crab, it's so much easier and more efficient to cut the legs open with scissors! Guess I'll put them all away now. :o(
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Saturday. Ciao.
