Good 42º drizzling morning. Boy was it windy last night
though~! I was talking to my friend Linda and she could hear the howling wind
through the phone! Thank goodness no electrical outages! It was
wild. This morning I found a couple of my front porch birdhouses had blown over and one off the rail. Then noticed Dude out in the pasture looking very sheepish.... the gate had come loose and a hinge part came out from the post and the gate was caddywhompus so he just walked through. I got it somewhat fixed. Guess I need to get a 'man' out here to finish what I started !!!
I looked up at the honking geese (cheering on my gate fixing, no doubt!) and saw a heard of elk up at the neighbors. Wow. Always impressed with those guys!
It was a gloomy day all yesterday. Made it to 53º by late
afternoon. We ended up with a total from this storm so far of 1".
Friend Don Swift (LASD ret.) and his bride Joan live in Bend OR. They have a LOAD of snow! So does Phil
and Suzanne Santisteven (LASD ret) up in Idaho. Haven't heard from Aaron and
Marie lately, but they are in Deer Lodge Montana and I'm sure they have their
share of the snow too!! Greg Lundell (Wilson S'63) and his Becky are northwest
of Chicago and it's got to be a mess there.... as well as at Vivia's in Brooklyn NY!
Dave (LASD ret) and Pam Clark sent the following pictures of their cats ...
staying in out of the snow!
Luna... what a sweet face!
Toby... Bruiser's cousin!!!
Exciting here... did laundry, vacuumed, paperwork, copied off
pictures of Jennifer's birthday for her....
Dinner was .... one of my concoctions....
Garlic/Chicken/Mozzarella meat balls sauteéd in olive oil... artichoke
heart quarters, dried garlic and onion reconstituted, basil, chives, cream of
mushroom soup, and a jar of my marinara sauce....
After sautéing the meatballs I drained and added in the artichoke hearts,
and cooked a few while I boiled the angel hair pasta (half a box)... Then added
in all the other ingredients and heated well.... tossed in the drained pasta...
plated and served with cut up fresh tomatoes...
OMGOOOOOOD~!!!!!!! Just LOVE those meatballs (Costco) with anything! Plain even!!!

I certainly
remember that. Just about tossed out of bed at 6am. Jumped up to see if Kristen
was ok. Lay in bed with her to keep her calm. Brian due on the 22nd but after
that quake he decided to make his appearance early on the 14th! Lucy, our

hit.

Last night I made a HUGE mistake... paid for a Pay Per View
movie starring Matthew McConaughey ....The Dallas Buyers Club...
A PIECE OF CRAP! McConaughey is a "real life" Texas cowboy
(rodeo rider) Ron Woodroof who is diagnosed with AIDS in 1985. His life
consisted of booze (LOTS), cocaine (LOTS), women (LOTS), and cigarette smoking
(EVERY MINUTE). He wouldn't just draw on a cig, he'd just about suck the whole
thing down in one puff~! Sickening. He lost a lot of weight to make this film
and looks AWFUL! Long haired, dirty, and just in general not like any Texas
cowboy I ever knew/saw! He was given 30 days to live and decided to take matters
into his own hands by obtaining illegally the drugs that were government
approved effective. Then he sold them to others suffering with the same AIDS
virus. This wasn't the problem, it was how he was portrayed with the
never-ending boozing, women, cocaine, and smoking. This movie could not end fast
enough... in fact I fast forwarded to the end after about an hour of the SH*T!
Sorry. I like movies that are uplifting, happy, romantic, and end well. Or at
least the bad guys pay for their sins!!! You know what I mean... 'BANG' !!!
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Sunday. Ciao.
