PICTURE OF THE DAY
Yesterday I went to the lab at the hospital in GP to have a fasting blood
test. The test results already came back, all normal! Then met up with Mike and
Jennifer and we went to Teapot On Wheels in Gold Hill.... Not having had any
coffee or breakfast I was STARVING!
They are on FB under https://www.facebook.com/theteapotonwheels/timeline
and they have a website www.theteapotonwheels.com
It's right on the river with a great view. They only serve tea , and have
many many different kinds, and coffee and water. They have a lovely high tea
room...hats for those without, to wear.... and a lawn area for parties/weddings
etc....
As we walked around outside this hawk was flying overhead...
Jennifer had the 'bangers and mash' ... also known as sausages and mash is
a traditional British Isles dish made of mashed potatoes and sausages, the
latter of which may consist of a variety of flavored sausages made of pork of
beef. It is sometimes served with onion gravy, fried onions, baked beans and
peas. It is mostly eaten in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New
Zealand.
Mike had the fish and chips... see the London newspaper the fish and chips
were served on.. (just for serving..parchment) that he loved...
And I had a vegetable omelette with Swiss cheese and crunchy potato slices.
Also had some swirled rye toast that was phenomenal..... OMGOOOOOOD! I got the 4
egg omelette so I could bring half home!
This is what the bread looked like..
Then a stop at Del Rio Winery. Jennifer has joined their wine club, so we
all had tasting...
They have 300 acres of grapes!
Mike is the bee whisperer, so this for you Mike!

September 1st
September is the beginning of wine season! Whoooot!
Today is also Emma M. Nutt Day
This day celebrates the first woman telephone operator in America.
Emma Nutt became the first woman telephone operator on September 1, 1878.
She loved the job, and worked at it for 33 years.
This special day celebrates the world of telephone operators. It was a very
important job for many decades. Today, the position has been eliminated being
replaced by automation in telephone systems.
A little side note about Emma: According to Emma, she was "very
thankful that my first name was not Imma". LOL... Jerry had cousins with the
last name of Hogg. One was Emma and the other was Imma. Whodda thought parents
could be so stupid!!!
