Good 58º hazy smokey and no sun coming through morning. UGH!
Yesterday the smoke drifted back into our area. We got warm, topped at 101º
and will probably be the same today.
Breakfast was the last of my Schwans omelettes drizzled with
Trader Joe's Sriracha ranch, plain yogurt and melon, and a Stroopwaffle ( https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=stroopwaffel)
for dessert!
Watching public TV and guess who was on...
Remember them? Know who they are?
Yesterday I had an appointment with my therapist, Stacy, at Rogue River Physical Therapy
for my shoulder. I got a great massage and tips on what to do. I will go
back several more times. She agreed with my cardiologist who said, "don't have
the shoulder surgery, just do the therapy." Stacy said a surgery like that takes
"months" to heal. Right shoulder and I'm right handed. She said I wouldn't be
able to do much and nothing with the right hand! I certainly would need help on
a regular basis. OK, I got it... no surgery!
Now this would be an acceptable reason to laugh at a funeral... shared by
my friend Carol Nasca (Wilsonite).....
A Cardiologist's Funeral
funeral by
the hospital he worked for most of his life...
A huge heart... covered in flowers stood behind the casket during
the
service as all the doctors from the hospital sat in awe. Following
the
eulogy, the heart opened, and the casket rolled inside. The heart
then
closed, sealing the doctor in the beautiful heart forever.
At that point, one of the mourners just burst into laughter. When
all eyes
stared at him, he said, 'I'm so sorry... I was just thinking
of my own
funeral...I'm a gynecologist!'
The priest fainted! ...................... |

when he was dispatching he'd make his announcements in his Barry White voice!
Too fun....
I have a cookbook on Dump Cakes. These are so easy and great for this time of year when you cook them in the crock pot. Here is Cherry Pineapple Dump Cake:
Ingredients:
20oz can of crushed pineapple, well drained
2 21oz cans of cherry pie filling
1 box of white cake mix
½ cup butter, thinly sliced
½ cup chopped pecans
1. Layer the pineapple then the cherries then the cake mix
(dry, not prepared) in the slow cooker.
2. Top with butter and then pecans.
3. Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours, until cake is set.
Dinner was super simple... Schwans Garlic Shrimp and some of their green
beans. Both kept frozen and microwaved!
When I was in town I picked up my Amazon order of cat treats, and the particulate masks..... (for the smoke!)
Delivered to my house was my Torani order. I love their sugar free syrups
in my coffee...
The salted caramel is sooooo good and the peanut butter and Irish cream. I
have not tried the white chocolate, so we'll see.
Later it was chair, wine, and TV.
Have heard from a couple of friends down in the Irma path. So far all are
ok. Power out for some will last long, others are back up and running and with
minor damage (fence down, some siding off). Thank God!!!
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday. Ciao. AND yeah, my Schwans Asian Meals order will be here today! Pal Trish ordered some of them too. Anxious to try!

Chocolate Milkshake Day
Chocolate Milkshake Day is
an opportunity for chocoholoics to savor and enjoy. The weather may have cooled
off. But, our appetite for chocolate, specifically chocolate milkshakes, hasn't
cooled off one iota.
What a great day this will be! Simply combine a little milk with some
chocolate ice cream, add some extra chocolate syrup, and mix it well in a
blender. That's the fixins for mixin up a big, tall glass of chocolate
milkshake.
On a diet? Not today. A lot of people celebrate Chocolate Milkshake Day with not one,
but two or more chocolate milkshakes.
Bottoms up!
One of my treasures is this 1930's Hamilton Beach Milkshake maker...
It was in the cafeteria of the US Post Office Los Angeles Terminal Annex.
When my Dad worked there they revamped the cafeteria and got rid of all the
"old" stuff. My Dad got this milkshake maker and we used it often over the
years...
