Good 36º morning! Frost on the barn roof! Wow, temps changed just like that! Clear out there. Lots of stars. Pressure up so should be a beautiful day. Cooler at least. Yesterday hit 82º again. Some radar over N. Cal. Pollen count coming up ... 2.90 out of 12.
Such a tragedy with the death of Dan Wheldon at the Vegas raceway. My heart goes out to his family.
Only 75 days left in this year. We will have to be writing 2012 way too soon! Which also means only 68 days until Christmas! YIKES!
Yesterday I did chores... mowed the front grass, trimmed a grapevine, 2 loads laundry, changed sheets, did dishes, took trash to trash can at the road
The yellow speaker shaped thing on the seat is a siren my neighbors Cindy and Frank gave me for my birthday.. it's also a loud speaker .... whoop whoop "pull over" !!!
....went through and tossed out old cooking magazines, brought more plants in from the porch (even though it was 80º!! it will get freezing soon!), the excitement was almost more than I could stand! :o)
It was a pretty day.......
and a momma and a bunch of young turkeys visited, while Mr. Squirrel was completely unfazed ...
I had been cleaning out recipes and found this one for a "Limoncello Martini" ... 1½ oz vodka + ½ oz limoncello. Shake with ice and garnish with lemon slice. (Didn't have one of those!) OMG Good! And that's another thing, got vodka and limoncello.... need to be used~
And dinner was a "make over" of a recipe. The recipe was broccoli casserole, but I made it into Zucchini w/Chicken casserole because I had this ginormas piece of zucchini......
Ingredients:
1/2 of large zucchini
1 can chicken (or salmon or tuna)
2 Roma tomatoes
1/2 cup milk
1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup (with garlic)
2 T yellow mustard
1/2 small onion, diced
1 cup grated cheese
3/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
pepper
2 T butter
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
Stir soup, mustard, milk .. add zucchini, tomatoes, and chicken. Stir. Mix in cheeses and put in 9x9 casserole dish.
Mix bread crumbs with melted butter and sprinkle on top of zucchini/chicken mixture.
Bake 350º for 30 minutes.

OMG!
Too many sick sick leaders in this world who feel it is their right to "adjust" populations. Don't get me started. I am so glad Saddam is off the face of the earth and waiting tables in Hell!
1966 – A fire at a building in New York, New York kills 12 firefighters, the New York City Fire Department's deadliest day until the September 11, 2001 attacks.
1989 – 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake (7.1 on the Richter scale) hits the San Francisco Bay Area and causes 57 deaths directly (and 6 indirectly).
While traveling to my sister Marion's, in Lake Tahoe, my son Brian and I are listening to the World Series ... the earthquake struck, unbeknownst to us, and the radio went off. We thought it was because of a bad reception area. Arrived at my sis's and she was jumping up and down on the deck shouting, "The Bay Bridge has fallen down, the Bay Bridge has fallen down!" Gosh, we both wondered what in the world ... had she been smokin' her socks????? Lordy. So, after that, we sat spellbound in front of the TV for hours watching all the mess in San Francisco unfold. My nephew Andy at Candlestick Park on the upper deck said the whole deck was swinging back and forth. Fortunately it didn't fall. Wow.
