Good 40º drizzly morning. More rain today, then a break. Another 1¼" in the
rain gauge. Since the 1st of March we've gotten 6" of that stuff!
I was watching the news Sunday night and OVamit was shown leaving his plane
in Cuba. It was raining... but does he hold the umbrella over his wife's head?
NOOOOOO... only his! GAG GAG GAG Self-serving Self-important ADAM HENRY!
Ok, speaking of OVamit ... remember this.. LOL!
Ok, picture of the day.. I had put this on my FB page already but needed to
share, as the bridge and Presidio look so beautiful! So enjoyed trips to San
Francisco with Darling and the great food. (OK, I GOOFED!! THis is Fort Point, not the Presidio! Thanks Owen. Brain fart on this end!!!!)
This is sooooo cute. Shared by Deeewayne Honneee Preimsburger (LASD ret).

Today is a special birthday, my neighbor Cindy.

Colony sign a peace
treaty with Massasoit of theWampanoags.
1622 – Jamestown
massacre: Algonquian Indians kill 347 English settlers aroundJamestown,
Virginia, a third of the colony's population.
.... Good
grief, sounds like they should have had a treaty~
1765 – The British
Parliament passes
the Stamp
Act that
introduces a tax to be levied directly on its American
colonies.
... THIS
MEANS WAR!
1984 – Teachers at the McMartin
preschool in Manhattan
Beach, California are charged with satanic
ritual abuse of the children in the school. The charges
are later dropped as completely unfounded.
....The trial
lasted seven years and cost $15 million, the longest and most expensive criminal
case in the history of the United States legal system, and ultimately resulted
in no convictions. Can you believe it... Chuck Norris, the actor, was identified
by one child as being one of the abusers!
1997 – Tara
Lipinski, age 14 years and 10 months, becomes the youngest
champion women's World Figure
Skating Champion.
And births
this date include....

1912
– Karl

1920
– James
Brown, American actor (d. 1992)
Awww.... I
loved Rin Tin Tin and even have an autographed picture from Mr.
Brown!
.... and look
at this, the little boy in Rin Tin Tin was Lee Aaker who played Rusty...
OMG
He went from
'so cute' to 'so weird'!
1923 – Marcel

1931

1933
– May
Britt, Swedish actress
She
met Sammy Davis,
Jr. in 1959.
They began dating, and, after a brief engagement, were married on November 13,
1960. Their wedding caused controversy. A rumor or myth, John F.
Kennedy and Robert F.
Kennedy told Frank
Sinatra to tell
Davis not to marry May until after the 1960
Presidential Election. At
that time interracial
marriage was
forbidden by law in 31 U.S. states, and only in 1967 were those laws (by then
down to 17 states) ruled unconstitutional by the U.S. Supreme
Court.
She must have
'retired' because there are no recent photos of her
anywhere!
1976
– Reese
Witherspoon, American
actress
Bruiser not happy with being out so he sat on the table and just watched...
then finally laying on his mat...
I wanted something different from the corned beef for lunch, so I decided
to make paté.
Into the food processor went the left over corned beef, some horseradish
sauce and mayonnaise. Processed til well mixed and smooth.
I spread some on this puffy "Magic Pop" and topped with pickled asparagus.
YUMMMMM! (as you can see I was already gnawing on the edges!)
Just FYI....
Magic Pops can be purchased here
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday. Ciao.

March 22nd
National Goof Off Day
Now here's a day that just about everybody can relax and enjoy. It's a day
to do anything and everything.....except what you're supposed to do today.
Assuming you won't get in trouble at work or school, go ahead and play some
golf, or play games all day. Spend extra time surfing the net. Go out and spend
the day window shopping with your favorite friend. Or, just read sit down and
read a book or watch TV. This day is set aside for you to do anything you enjoy
doing.
A few years ago, a survey was performed to identify the most popular
activity for goofing off. The top activity was playing video games. Who
conducted the survey? Ninetendo.......no surprise. It kinda makes you wonder
just who might have had the brainstorm to create this day......hmmmm. Nowadays,
the most popular Goof Off Day activity is likely playing games on the internet,
or on our Smart
Phones.
