Good sunny 49º gonna be hot one morning. Yesterday was warm, in the 80º's.
After I mowed the front, turned on the sprinklers and the grass was wet and
cool, turned off the sprinklers .... Maggie laid down in the grass! She is not a
fan of summer. She's my winter girl!
Yesterday was exhausting... (sorry) with several loads of laundry, bedding
(tearing bed apart, washing sheets, remaking it), mowing ... front and back ..
and some other stuff.... blowing leaves ... watering and watering..... I heard
the phone ringing several times, but I was never in the house all day! Showered
and crashed in my chair... luckily had some of that shrimp wrap leftover to eat
so didn't have to cook! Fell asleep until time for bed!
This is hilarious... thanks Lynn Helbing for the laugh!
I was going to tell you about Memorial Day at Brian and Jen's.... Jen made
a super meal of barbecued 'meat on a stick' with chicken and sausage, veggie
salad, fruit on a stick, Jean brought a hot potato dish, Jeannie made ambrosia,
I brought my Oriental Coleslaw, and then we had s'mores for dessert! Brian and
Bill conversed re 'man stuff' and tossed the ball for Atlas. Atlas dropped it
behind Bill and patiently waited for another throw....
Bobo's camera was 'borrowed' by Bill and unauthorized photos were
taken....
Mmmmmm...... good food!!!! Thanks Jen~!!!!
Sami was 'smokin' a pretzel....
Atlas patiently awaited the firing off of the logs for the
s'mores....
Jeannie kept warm under the heater.. and the next day went and purchased
her very own! Cousin Marie and her pal Brad were up from California....
Everyone loves s'mores!
Tucker....Dude.... you've got some marshmallow on your lip!
What a fun afternoon!
Historically this date..
... unbelievable!
1970 – The Ancash earthquake
causes a landslide that buries the town
of Yungay, Peru; more than
47,000 people are killed
...Obviously not a good day for earthquakes!
And births this date include..
"I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well,
to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But
being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the
world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one
question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?" Love it love it love
it!!!!
All I know. Nuff said. Can't believe it is the END of May! Pay Day!!! Lots
and lots more yard work to get done today! Weeding... weed spraying ...
mowing.... It never ceases this time of year~! Ciao.

National Macaroon Day
Macaroons are a simple cookie made from almond paste or coconut and mixed
with sugar and egg whites. Many cultures have a macaroon-like cookie, but their
origins are believed to be traced back to an Italian monastery in the early
1500's.
Because they are unleavened, macaroons are popular at Passover.
In addition to the basic macaroon, you will often find recipes for ones
containing add-ins like cherries, orange, chocolate, apricot and more.
