Good 53º very clear and sunny morning.
By noon yesterday it was still only 77º with a
great breeze. All doors and windows open. Enjoyed it!
And by 4pm not much change... all 'weather' has
moved off to the east and northeast...
Ok, this is funny. I commented on our local TV's
FB page about the new In-N-Out being built in Medford.
My FB name is 'Susan
Laney Pendleton Maxwell' and when Art Barron (I love his news show. He's my fav!) on 5 News at 7 read comments he
used my whole name and commented 'I think these are two people who both have an
account" !!!! LOL I just about fell out of my chair when I was watching it. Turn
up your sound!

We are so excited to get and In-N-Out here... especially us who are originally from California. So miss that hamburger!! Kristen worked for In-N-Out in high school along with her pal Jenny Ziegler. Kristen went on to become a Deputy and Jenny stayed with In-N-Out... Kris made good money, and Jenny's salary as a manager was right up there equal with Kristen's! Good company to work for.
Wow, this is true!
Today pal Jennie has hand surgery. Anxious to
hear how it turned out and how she is doing. Give her your thoughts and
prayers.
Today is Ronnie Lancaster's (LASD ret) birthday, 1945. Sadly
we lost him in 2012. He worked at Temple Station with Jerry and went on to work Homicide... and was Jerry and Steve
Voors roommate for a time. You are missed Ronnie! RIP

#5!
The 'do' isn't really working for you!
Yesterday I ordered my Vue cups coffee from
Amazon and the sugar free creamer, some chicken jerky for Dude (his fav, and
made in the USA), and some dental chews..
Cheaper than Costco and I don't pay shipping.
Also hard to find the vue Keurig cups.
Dinner... since it was 'macaroni' day and Grand
Marnier day... I found all the ingredients for dinner and the grand moaner!
"LBBs" ... little brown birdies! Just something
we always called them.
While I was in the kitchen mamma bird was feeding
her little babies.... got the photos through the window...
So, first I reconstituted some Harmony House
dehydrated veggies... green beans, celery, and tomato dices.
I found a can of minced clams (actually I used 2 cans), some shitake
mushrooms, and vegetable pasta...
A roux of butter, milk, and flour.. then added in
some pimento cheese, boursin cheese, and cheddar.....
Cooked the veggie pasta and added in some mini
shells pasta...
Into a big bowl went the pasta, veggies, drained
mushrooms, and clams, and mixed all with the cheese sauce.
Put into casserole dish and topped with Panko
Crumbs.
Then, instead of turning on the oven, I put the
dish in my casserole Crock*Pot on high for 2 hours. PERFECT!
Some iceberg lettuce with avocado and the sweet
onion ranch dressing... OMGOOOOOD!!!
You do know, of course, just because I added
clams to mine, don't go "ewwwww", fix it but add shredded cooked chicken, beef,
tuna, salmon, whatever.............
My after dinner drink:
Later I watched the recorded news and CSI Miami.
All I know.Nuff said. Happy Hump Day.
Ciao.

National Gummy Worm Day
Today is National Gummy Worms Day. But not everybody can
enjoy a juicy gummy worm.
That’s because many gummy candies are made with gelatin, an
animal product that’s neither kosher nor vegetarian/vegan.
The traditional gummy candy is made with sugar, glucose syrup (more
sugar), starch, flavoring, food color, citric acid and
gelatin.
Gummy History
Gummy History
The first gummy candies, Gummi Bears, were produced in 1922
by Haribo, a Bonn, Germany, confectioner. Founder Hans Riegel invented the
Dancing Bear, a fruit gum made in the shape of a bear. In 1967 the Dancing Bears
became Gummi Bears, and spawned an entire zoo of gummi animals.
Worms are not zoo creatures, however, and Haribo did not
invent the Gummi Worm. Gummi Worms were introduced by another German gummi candy
manufacturer, Trolli (named for forest trolls), in 1981. The U.S. Americanized
“gummi” to “gummy.”
