Good 47º clear sunny morning. Hit 87º yesterday!
Happy Throw Back Thursday....
Do you know what this is?
This is a flour sifter. It was my Mom's. Still works GREAT!
It's a vintage 1940's or 1950's. The company, Bromwells, patented the
sifter in 1819! They are still making them, but a little pricey now!
This is certainly an interesting website! Full of information and history
of the founder Jacob Bromwell.
Yesterday Mike got here and fixed the rain gutters on both sides of the
barn. I told him he'd get 'hazard pay' for that!
While he did that I mowed the front and back lawns. Dude and Bruiser, not
happy with the heat, were laying in the shade...
I also pulled weeds, with Bruiser's help! Then took a break and sat on the
porch with a cold wine... and turned the sprinkler on the front yard.
Dude and Bruiser took a break too....
Mike did weed-eating along the creek and around obstacles that gave a
clear view to Dave when he comes up here to brush-hog the pastures.
Two special celebrations today... my pal Dee Yellin is celebrating her

And former neighbor Laura (Vincent) and her hubby Conrad are
celebrating their anniversary. HAPPY 26th ANNIVERSARY kids!
They raise and show Irish Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers.

Limerick Day
Limerick Day celebrates the birthday of Writer Edward Lear (1812-1888). It
also, of course, celebrates Limerick poems. Limericks were popularized by Lear
in 1846 in his Book of Nonsense".
This day is a time to enjoy and get your fill of Limerick poems. We are so
glad that it came along to brighten up our lives. Celebrate Limerick Day in
style by writing a Limerick or two of your own. Or, sit down and read a few
humorous Limericks. They are guaranteed to make you smile.
A Limerick is a humorous verse or poem. It is five lines longs. It's name
come from the city of Limerick, Ireland. The first two lines rhyme with the
fifth line rhyme. The third and fourth lines rhyme.
Did you know? Limerick is
the third largest city in Ireland.
Ok, here's my contributions:
If you've been given a nickname, that's just ducky.
Some of them can be quite plucky.
My nickname is Bobo,
Glad it wasn't Bozo!
And if you go to the Derby, you want to be named Lucky!
My Darling called me Dew.
I guess it was a version of Sue.
After a trip through Milpitas, *
He started calling me Millpudas!
It could have been worse, PHEW!
*California city in Santa Clara county.
If you have been lucky to have great love,
Someone that fits you like a glove.
You've been given a gift Heaven sent
Nothing can match such a Blessed event.
Be thankful for what was sent from above!
