10-29 codes ~ DirecTV & Jerry ~ Nosey Bruiser ~ Throw Back Thursday ~ Chicken/Veggie/Pasta Casserole ~ Thursday Night Football

Good 49º somewhat cloudy morning. GLOOMY out there!
Looks like yesterday morning we had 3/10ths of an inch of rain. My mountain .... stayed like this most of the day. 58º.

Then the sun came out and we had a lot of big beautiful clouds. Too warm for a wood stove fire. Had doors and windows open. Nice.

The DirecTV guy, Jerry (!) was out just after 10am. Jerry was super nice and did a GREAT job. He installed a new pole inside the existing pole and mounted the new dish.

While he was hard at work, Bruiser inspected his truck!

The new controls for the high def boxes are going to take some getting used to. When I have questions, thank goodness Brian has the answers for me! I enjoyed chatting with Jerry. He has a big family and loves to cook. It was his birthday yesterday and I had another casserole Crock*Pot, so I gave it to him as a birthday gift. He was happy and thought it would be perfect for his enchiladas! Jerry served in the US Army and said his sister is still in the Army.
Today is Throw Back Thursday...

Yesterday I was cooking..... cut up some chicken thighs, sauteéd them in a bit of olive oil and garlic salt. Put them in the crockpot along with some garlic cloves..

Then re-hydrated some celery, leeks, and bell peppers. ( http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_0_14?url=search-alias%3Dgrocery&field-keywords=harmony+house+foods&sprefix=Harmony+House+%2Caps%2C570 )            Added those into the crockpot and the leftover carrots and peas.. along with some spinach... and turned crockpot on high for an hour...

Then added in some cooked spaghetti and a bunch of the stir fry veggies. Lid on and cooked on low for 2 hours...

EXCELLENT dinner!!!

Then it was chair, TV, and wine. I had a call from pal Linda and then one from Barry Perrou. You Temple guys remember Barry? Good to hear from him. We had a nice long chat.

Football tonight:

All I know. Nuff said. Happy TBT. Ciao.
