Pupusa & Egg ~ Escaping Kittens ~ Dog Rescue ~ Couscous & Veggies ~ March Food Days ~

Good 48ยบ morning. Cloudy and foggy now, but sun to come out later and tease us before the next storm moves in tomorrow. Drat.

The 1st of March, can you believe it! Tomorrow is my Sami's 5th birthday. A gala partaaaay planned and hoping it won't rain until much later in the day!

AND.... duh, I don't know why I put Harley Dude's birthday as yesterday, it's today! BIG BRAIN FART!!!
I think the odd number of days in Feb throws me off. Or it could be that I'm just a dumb bunny!!!

Breakfast yesterday was a Pupusa
and egg with Frank's Hot Sauce (mixed with melted butter). YUMMMMMM! I heated the pupusa in a tad of oil, added an egg, plated and drizzled on the hot sauce.

                                       OMGOOD!!

This is tooooo cute!

And if you haven't seen this story of a mom dog rescuing her newborn pups from a burning house.... An amazing tale of a Mother's love....

Historically this date...
1803Ohio is admitted as the 17th U.S. state.
1867Nebraska becomes the 37th U.S. state; Lancaster, Nebraska is renamed Lincoln and becomes the state capital.
1910 – The worst avalanche in United States history buries a Great Northern Railway train in northeastern King County, Washington, killing 96 people.
1912Albert Berry makes the first parachute jump from a moving airplane.
1932 – The son of Charles Lindbergh, Charles Augustus Lindbergh III, is kidnapped.
1936 – The Hoover Dam is completed.
1953Joseph Stalin suffers a stroke and collapses. He dies four days later.
1971 – A bomb explodes in a men's room in the United States Capitol: the Weather Underground claims responsibility.

And today is the birthday of a bunch of folks....
1904 – Glenn Miller, American bandleader (d. 1944)
1910 – David Niven, English actor (d. 1983)
1934 – Joan Hackett, American actress (d. 1983)
1935Robert Conrad, American actor
1946 – Lana Wood, American actress
1947Alan Thicke, Canadian actor and songwriter
1954 – Ron Howard, American actor and director
1967 – George Eads, American actor
1969Javier Bardem, Spanish actor
1994Justin Bieber, Canadian pop star

So, dinner was another creation.... first get out the 39 year old rice cooker (Jerry and I bought it in 1974 in Little Tokyo in Los Angeles)....

Add:
2 cups couscous blend and 4 cups chicken stock...

Then add, by the handful, chopped cabbage, spinach, carrots sliced, grape tomatoes sliced in half, and chopped up bell pepper. Push the "ON" button and dinner cooks itself! A lightweight meal but really good!!!!

I looked at the above picture and it just looked weird with the design on the plate... so just to let you know what it is....
LOL

I have catching up to do today with birthday and anniversary cards and bill paying. Joy. Yesterday I hit town, post office, pharmacy, market, vets for Magg's pills, and Ace for cracked corn......of which they were out of!!! Got come chicken scratch instead to hold over. May, if in the mood hit Ace again today or wait until tomorrow when I have to leave and go to Sami's party anyway. Hate to make too many trips. Too $$ for gas!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy TGIF! Ciao.
