Good 50º clear 76% humid morning. Full moon. Be careful!
Yesterday was the JCRW luncheon. After all was said and done and the BBQ committee meeting over it was 2:30 and Costco just didn't sound fun anymore. I stopped in at the Grange and got a deer block, the post office to mail cards, and the market for a few quick items. Home and Maggs was happy happy I returned. It was pretty warm then, 90º, so she was glad to come in the house and cool off. Although, she was laying in cool grass in the shade when I got home.

Two rednecks are sittin' in a bar drinkin' ...
One says to the other, "Did you know that elks have sex 10 to 15 times a day?"
"Aw crap ..." , says his friend, "and I just joined the Knights of Columbus."

So, earlier in the day I go in the fridge for a hard-boiled egg and pull out this monster....
Inside....
Mr. Double Yolk. Just the size of that egg was amazing. OUCH!!!
Out back there was Momma Crow and Baby Crow begging for Mom to feed her/him...
I've only noticed one crow baby in the area. Parents are very protective. Mom was giving me the eye...
Then a couple of the deer showed up.. These are yearlings... Probably the children of the mom with the spotted twins.
I was just walking around outside and here is this sunflower that just popped out of a pot on the porch. No doubt hidden in there by one of the squirrels... It was just dancing in the breeze. Really needed some music...
and....
August 12th is the 224th day of the year... with only 141 days remaining. This is the peak of the Perseid Meteor Shower. The full moon is blocking the view though. The ideal way to view this is to find a spot that is shaded from the moon, lay on your back, and make wishes on all the meteors that fly by!
Historically this date.....
..... BUT... in So Africa they have used dna and zebras to revive the Quagga! Amazing.... http://www.quaggaproject.org/
Interesting read.
1898 – The Hawaiian flag is lowered from Iolani Palace in an elaborate annexation ceremony and replaced with the flag of the United States to signify the transfer of sovereignty from the Republic of Hawai`i to the United States.
1982 – Mexico announces it is unable to pay its enormous external debt, marking the beginning of a debt crisis that spreads to all of Latin America and the Third World.
And births this date include....
'Aunt Clara' in Bewitched.
My goodness, she lived to be 95 AND was married to one man for
65 years! Not your normal Hollyweird person.
He did his share by marrying 4 Hollywood beauties!
1930 – George Soros Hungarian-born American financier and political activist and ADAM HENRY!! He should just die. On top of everything else, he's u-g-l-y!
OH MY GOD.... Pulllleese with the last name!
So I took pictures of my babes too.... my pretty girl...
and Mr. Happy Pants... just finished eating something....
All I know. Car wash today and Staples, Safeway or Albertsons, vacuum store for bags for my new vacuum, and the cooking store for items for a basket that will be in a silent auction at the Ronald Reagan BBQ in a couple of weeks. May stop in to whine with my SOW Sista afterwards. Happy Friday! Ciao.
