Good 27º burrrrrrrr frozen cloudy morning. Again.

Pretty day yesterday.... warmed to 61º.  SUN~!!!!!!

Went to Dave and PJ's to feed fish and a couple other things ... Dude was so not interested in the fish!

The fish were happy to see me.... the "food lady"....

Our mode of transportation to Dave and PJ's is my golf cart.... I ride and Dude runs along side... as you can see I have my "official" LASD decal....

Came home and the Bruise was napping in his bed on the side of my desk... in the sunshine!

This came from my friend Pat Kelly (Greece traveling friend) ... it will put a big smile on your face!

OK, today is the big football day. My team isn't playing, so boo hoo boo hoo. Neither are a lot of teams you guys love. So, I'm rooting for the Broncos. I like and respect Peyton Manning. He's a good guy. Not fond of the SeaChickens. So, we'll see.... Making taquitos and a guacamole dip ..... deviled eggs. Will have pictures tomorrow.

"They" say one glass a day is good for you. "They" never said how many times you fill it.

Today is a special anniversary of two special people... John (ret LASD Lt who worked at ELA when I was there...great guy!) and Trish (pretty lady, hardworking Republican, great mom and grandma!) Bowler. 51 years! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY KIDS!!! You have done a good job, working hard, raising 4 boys, and now being grandparents to darling Matthew and beautiful Isabella.

Here is a picture I took of her in Acapulco when I was working for Fabergé and we represented her line of hair products...
Speaking of Fabergé and Acapulco, a bunch of were down at the swimming pool at the hotel, some were sitting on the bar stools in the water

when this woman steps out on a balcony up and across from the pool and yells, "I just fu**ed Joe Namath!" LOL. The New York based Barry family owned the company and were friends with Namath, and he traveled to the sales meeting with them.

My friend Dee is doing well. She can't eat for the time being, until Monday, but will probably be going home then. Jeannie and Bill saw her yesterday and said she looked great .... for going through a big surgery that is wonderful, but she's a pretty lady anyway! God Bless you Dee, we are all pulling for you! xo

Dinner was salad..... with sauteéd veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, leeks) on romaine lettuce with tomato and a dressing of mayonnaise and lemon juice. YUMMMMMMM!!!

All I know. Have a fun Super Bowl Day. Nuff said. Ciao.

Candlemas, The Feast of Purification

On the Modern calendar - February 2nd
On the Julian calendar - February 15th
Candlemas is the last holiday of the Christmas season. Candlemas is a Christian celebration, or festival, of the Feast of Purification of the Virgin Mary. It also celebrates the annual blessing of candles used by the church.
According to Jewish customs, women were considered "unclean" after the birth of a child. The unclean period lasted 40 days after the birth of a son, and 60 days after the birth of a daughter. During this period, they were not allowed into the temple to worship. At the end of this time, the woman was brought to the temple and "purified" in a ceremony.  After the birth of Christ, the Virgin Mary was purified on Candlemas or the Feast of Purification.
On Candlemas, candles used during the year are blessed. In Christian churches, candles represent Jesus Christ as the light, the truth and the way.
