Dummy Me ~ S'54 & S'63 ~ Firemen Flash Mob ~ Soapbox ~ Bruiser ~ Purple Potatoes with Salmon and Trout with Shrimp

Good 32º, oh look it's foggy morning. Sigh..................... not a speck of sun here yesterday..... warmed to 41º. Jeannie said there was some sun in Grants Pass. Patty and Cliff headed to the coast where she said it was sunny and 55º. After this gloomy winter it sounds like Brookings is the place to move to~!

OK, dummy me... the other day I posted the weather predictions ... LOL, it was for "Grants NM" not Grants Pass OR!!! Oh Lordy....

Here is the weather posted on the weather site yesterday... no teen numbers for us!! Sheesh..... I need a keeper!!!!

Hard to keep up with all the stuff about "hash tags" (#) and TBT (Throw Back Thursdays) .... "wink" "boom"..... so it was suggested after showing some old photos to friends that I should post them on TBT! OK, here are a couple...
My super sis, Marion (d.2004) graduated from Wilson in S'54 a member of the Adlephians Class. I graduated in S'63 a member of the Delphians class! (Guess who in my class suggested the name and got the nod!)

This from my friend Deeeewayne Honneee Preimsberger (LASD ret) .... as he said, "No wonder everyone loves firemen."

My poor kitty, Bruiser, had three shots on Tuesday and true to the instructions, he was not doing much but sleep. This is supposed to ware off in a couple of days, if not I have to call the vet. I got this backrest for my big chair, doesn't work there, so put it on my computer chair. Mister wanted to lay on the computer so I put the backrest on the desk and he was happy happy! Today he is back to his "what can I get in trouble with" self! He's racing through the house, jumping out at Dude (makes him so nervous!), up on the hutch attacking some of my frogs...... turned on the moving circle game Jeannie gave him... takes off some of that energy since he is attacking the moving arm!

Dinner was 'different honey'. I cooked and mashed up some purple potatoes with butter, cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, chives, chopped jalapenos, and canned salmon....

Then.... I found some frozen fish in the freezer, must have been from one of Nancy's Dave's trout fishing trips..
Thawed and took them all apart, put them in the crockpot with lemon juice and butter and garlic powder and let them cook for 4 hours.
Also found some shrimp, so put that in a pan with butter and let it heat. Then I de-boned the fish and added them to the shrimp with more butter, lemon, garlic powder, and capers.
I know. This all sound weird, but it was OMGOOD!!!!
I know I will make the potatoes again, even using white ones, but serve with something that is not also fish! The salmon in the potatoes was really good! I will do fish this way again too and maybe serve it on greens. Both delish!

Hey Jeannie and Bill....get well!!!!! Hey Juli.....get well!!!! Ruth .... get well!!!! Love you guys, hate it when friends or family are sick! Brian has had a cough for a month. It just hangs on....... Sure wish there was a magic cure for this nasty flu bug. Obviously shots do nothing! I just keep taking Airborne 3 times a day to keep my immune system up there! (Knocking on wood, so far so good!)

January 16th
National Nothing Day
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VPHleTgE5rE/UPauDzoxjzI/AAAAAAAAkbw/r-r4dow8ZGI/s1600/nothing-to-sayMA29135935-0024.jpg

When: Always January 16th. This is simply a day for nothing.

This date is an "un-event". The expectation is that we do not create or otherwise promote this day. In other words, we do nothing. And to say anything more would contradict the purpose of this day.

Celebrate this day by doing ... nothing. Of course, that assumes that doing nothing is ok with your boss.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Origin of this day.... it was created in 1973 by newspaperman Harold Pullman Coffin. Other than that, we found nothing about this day.
