The Milwaukee Brewers are an American professional baseball team based in Milwaukee. They compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the National League (NL) Central division. The Brewers are named for the city's association with the brewing industry.
Since 2001, they have played their home games at American Family Field, which has a seating capacity of 41,900.
The team was founded in 1969 as the Seattle Pilots, an expansion team of the American League (AL), in Seattle, Washington. The Pilots played their home games at Sick's Stadium. After only one season, the team relocated to Milwaukee, becoming known as the Brewers and playing their home games at Milwaukee County Stadium. In 1998, the Brewers joined the National League. They are the only franchise to play in four different divisions since the advent of divisional play in Major League Baseball in 1969. They are also one of two current MLB franchises to switch leagues in the modern era (1900–present), the other being the Houston Astros.
The Brewers' only World Series appearance came in 1982, and they are one of only six current MLB teams that have never won the World Series. After winning the 1982 American League Championship Series (ALCS) against the California Angels, the Brewers faced off against the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series, losing 4–3. In 2011, the Brewers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks to win the 2011 National League Division Series (NLDS), 3–2, but lost in the National League Championship Series (NLCS) to the eventual World Series champion Cardinals, 4–2. In 2018, the Brewers swept the Colorado Rockies in the NLDS, 3–0, but lost the NLCS to the Los Angeles Dodgers, 4–3.
From 1969 through 2021, the Brewers' overall win–loss record is 4,037–4,315 (.483).
In 1982, Milwaukee won the American League East Division and the American League Pennant, earning their only World Series appearance to date as the Brewers. In the Series, they lost to the St. Louis Cardinals four games to three.
In 2008, for the first time in the 26 years since their World Series appearance, the Brewers advanced to postseason play by winning the National League wild card. They were eliminated in the National League Division Series by the eventual World Series champion Philadelphia Phillies.
On September 23, 2011, the Milwaukee Brewers clinched their first division title in 29 years. They won the National League Division Series in five games over the Arizona Diamondbacks, but lost the National League Championship Series to the eventual World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals in six games.
In 2018, the Brewers clinched a spot in the post-season for the first time since 2011 with a 2–1 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on September 26, 2018.
On September 29, they tied with the Cubs for first place in the National League Central, with a record of 95–67; at the end of the day on September 30, the Cubs and Brewers were still tied. This tie was broken on October 1, when the Brewers defeated the Cubs 3–1 in the NL Central tiebreaker to improve to 96–67 and win the division by one game. They went on to defeat the Colorado Rockies 3–0 to win the NLDS, but in the following NLCS, they lost out to the Los Angeles Dodgers in 7 games.
In 2019, the Brewers returned to the postseason and made an appearance in the National League Wild Card Game, where they were defeated by the eventual World Series champion Washington Nationals 4–3.
In 2020, the club made the postseason for a third consecutive year, making the expanded Playoffs as the 8th seed losing both games to the eventual champion Dodgers.

Four uniform combinations were presented on Monday. Ryan Braun wore the cream-coloured home uniform while Brandon Woodruff donned the other pinstripe one. Brewers fans could not get over the news and loved the new retro look.
There have been quite a few changes in the logo of the club. Rick Schlesinger stated that the process of the logo switch started a couple of years ago. They knew that the fans loved the ball-in-glove logo which is also called the original logo.
The 2021 season is the 17th for Mark Attanasio as chairman and principal owner of the Milwaukee Brewers. Last season, Attanasio oversaw the organization as it navigated the unprecedented 2020 year, impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, with a shortened 60-game schedule, and without fans attending in-person.
In the end, the Brewers remained focused on playing top-quality baseball in adverse conditions and achieved their third consecutive postseason appearance, a first in franchise history.

National Gingerbread Cookie Day on November 21st encourages us to grab the rolling pin and cookie cutters. The baking will warm the home and decorating will inspire us to design tasty cookies while making memories!
National Gingerbread Day takes place on June 5. A favorite food of an Armenian monk, Gregory of Nicopolis, brought gingerbread to Europe around 992 AD and taught French Christians to bake it. Gingerbread was often used in religious ceremonies and was baked to be sturdy as it was usually molded into images of saints.
Gingerbread cookies make sturdy walls for houses (perfect for National Gingerbread House Day on December 12) and tasty gingerbread families that can be decorated by the children in your home.
HOW TO OBSERVE
Invite friends to help you bake and decorate. Get the children involved and continue family traditions. Read the story of the gingerbread man.
Host a gingerbread design contest. While everyone is decorating, be sure to provide plenty of supplies. This is still important even if you’re hosting an online gingerbread design contest. You don’t want your home team to run out of icing or sprinkles just for zoom team B to zoom ahead with an abundance of supplies. One way to keep your gingerbread designs moving is by setting up stations. Start with icing, followed by sprinkles, edible glitter, and decorative piping. Then set up a drying station. Once everyone finishes, assign bragging rights to these categories:
- Most colorful
- Cookie most likely to be mistaken for a Salvador Dali
- Neatest icing and sprinkle usage
- Best use of icing
- Best repair job
- Most original design
Everyone should enjoy a good laugh and savor their hard work with a glass of milk and a tasty cookie!
