Good 68º the-day-is-almost-over morning!
Maggie developed a problem on Sunday night with a bleeding nose. She's had
a tumor in there for some time and something happened and she sneezed out a huge
red glob. The vet wanted her in first thing this morning. He said she also has a
tumor on her hiney and that came up fast since last month when he saw her. So it
will be removed and the nose flushed out. I think she may stay overnight at the
vets. Not sure. Worried. She's almost 14, which is past the standard age of 12.
I guess the spoiling has paid off. Along with Harley who is almost 22! Vet
always shakes his head and smiles when he asks and I tell him about Harley.
Last night I cooked the oysters and made a po'boy sandwich. Dipped the
oysters in a mixture of corn meal and Panko crumbs. Fried them in garlic infused
olive oil. Boudin bread was spread with Kraft Cracked Corn mayo, tomatoes added,
spinach, and the oysters. YUMMMMMMM!!!!
At the Olympics.. they hate America so much they can't even
support our athletes! Way to go. :O(
This is what you want to stay in the White House? Heaven help us!

National Macadamia Nut Day
These nuts are sooooooo good! I buy them at Costco and enjoy them often. I
also give a container of these to Kristen and Brian at Christmas. My Dad had
this Macadamia Nut tree in front of our house. Not an easy chore to grow one in
So Cal where the frost would harm the tree, blooms, and the nuts. Daddy
was vigilant for frost and would go out in the early hours of the morning and
spray the tree with water so nothing would freeze. Mother would put the nuts on
a cookie sheet in the oven to dry out with just the pilot light on. Then Daddy
would take them to his shop and crack them open with his vice. The shells are
HARD as NAILS~ (Kristen and Brian would do this too) The old El Sereno house has
been remodeled (second story) but the tree is still there!
