Full..... be careful out there!
Good 29º foggy morning.
Day 9 ............. WATER!!!!!! Hot and Cold. Running Flowing Gushing!
Went to PJ and Dave's yesterday for a shower.
Talked about the water and what it was/wasn't doing. Dave called later and
wanted to come up and take a look at the well pump house. He heard water
running. Called me on his cell and said to shut down all the faucets in the
house. Then he discovered a leak in one of the pasture pump houses. It controls
the water between the well pump, the house, and the barn. They are small,
contain pipes and valves and are covered with little wooden structures. With the
lid off you could see the water gushing out~!
He went home and found
a part to fix it and came back and TAAAA DAAAAA. Leak stopped. Water running
normal in the house! Hot water heater on and hot water coming out of the faucets
now!!! DAVE my hero!!!!!! Oh thank God! I am soooooooooo relieved. Don't need no
stinkin' plumber when Dave is your neighbor!!!! LOL..... sorry Mike.
This is soooooo sooooo typical of cats... if you are reading a paper or
magazine they get right in the middle of it. I had opened a Sheriff's Dept
annual to find something and Mister comes along, checks it out, and lays down
right on top of it!
Thanks Mom! You doin' something with this? I need a nap.
PICTURE of the day...
Ok, my buddy Linda asked me to send her this
recipe...
We call this "Oriental
Coleslaw" but the Pasadena Star News, to be politically correct
when they published my winning entry, called it "Asian Coleslaw" !!! (1992) This
is easy and everyone LOVES it.
1/4 cup peanut oil
1/4 cup rice vinegar
6-10 dashes Tabasco Pepper Sauce
2 T. sugar
1/2 t. ground black pepper
Mix together and set aside. (a glass jar with lid it
good)
2-4 packages slivered almonds
1/2 cup sesame seeds (cheaper on Mexican food
isle)
Toast seeds and almonds on cookie sheet 350º for 5-10 minutes
until golden. Watch carefully so they don't burn. Cool.
1 pkg Top Raman noodles .. broken up small (put in plastic bag
and hit with rolling pin!) Do not cook. Add to nuts and seeds. Set aside to add
to salad at very last.
Shred one head cabbage. Rinse and drain well. Salad spinner
works great! Chop one bunch green onions and mix with cabbage. Or, you can use
the ready made slaw mixture with shredded carrots in it.
Great for potluck (double for big crowd). I transport
cabbage/onion mixture in zip bag, seeds/nuts/noodles in zip bag, dressing in
jar. Take along large bowl and salad tongs. To serve, put cabbage in bowl, add
crunchy stuff, shake dressing and add. Mix and serve. (Be careful, you may just
eat it all yourself!)
