Snow! ~ Patriots! ~ The Mediterranean ~ Sashimi

PATRIOTS!!!

Good 30º little snowy morning. Yes, snowy!

What a football day yesterday was! The SF 49ers and the New 'Awlans' Saints game was a nail biter with the 49ers winning 36-32. And then there were my Patriots and the Broncos. Wow! 45-10. Mr. Tebow you are a fine young man with heart and a giving heart... you just need more time in. As one of the 'gentlemen in the booth' said, "If Tom Brady went over to the Broncos, they'd win the second half."

Sorry Tebow, you'll get there! Practice practice practice! Maybe then you'll get a spiral close to Brady's!

Early yesterday I met up with Jeannie and Bill at the Mediterranean ( http://www.themediterraneangp.com/) in Grants Pass to have birthday celebratory martinis.

Saturday and Wednesday are $5 martini days and they are GOOD! Since Bill wanted a 'down low incognito quiet' little bash, we did just that. Rosemary/lemon martys and Pomegranate/habañero martys! Mmmmmm mmmm mmmm. Billy's gift was wrapped in duct tape.

 Apropos for a male!

I also got him a Cartwright's rib eye.
(If you know Cartwright's you know how super excellent their meats are!
(I was told he took the steak home and barbecued it and enjoyed it last night!)

Shelly,
one of the Mediterranean owners, is a sweetheart. She made the martinis and even gave Bill an ice cream/coffee/creation with whipped cream and a candle on top!

We'll be going back there soon for some of their fantastic pizza and I LOVE their Moussaka! Just like being back in Greece!

After the 'wild birthday celebration I came home to my chair, a fire, Maggie & Harley, and football!

Dinner was fun. Sashimi! Mmmmm... I had a beautiful piece of Ahi Tuna and fixed some

And the sunset was spectacular....

Oregon had a gray wolf that, being monitored, has gone to California.....
Allen Daniels checked his trail camera hidden in the woods east of Butte Falls one day last fall looking for photographs of the black-tailed deer he was hunting, not trying to capture wildlife history.

This black and white image contains what biologists believe is the first known photograph of OR-7, the wondering gray wolf whose 700+ mile journey from NE Oregon to No. California has captured imaginations on five continents. http://www.dfg.ca.gov/wildlife/nongame/wolf/

1929Martin Luther King, Jr., American civil rights leader, recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize (d. 1968)
"It should come as no surprise that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican. In that era, almost all black Americans were Republicans. Why? From its founding in 1854 as the anti-slavery party until today, the Republican Party has championed freedom and civil rights for blacks. And as one pundit so succinctly stated, the Democrat Party is as it always has been, the party of the four S's: slavery, secession, segregation and now socialism."
" It was the Democrats who fought to keep blacks in slavery and passed the discriminatory Black Codes and Jim Crow laws. The Democrats started the Ku Klux Klan to lynch and terrorize blacks. The Democrats fought to prevent the passage of every civil rights law beginning with the civil rights laws of the 1860s, and continuing with the civil rights laws of the 1950s and 1960s."
