Aaron & Madeline ~ Drizzle ~ Hummingbird ~ Tchaikovsky Flashwaltz ~ Edda ~ Muffin Tamales ~ Bruiser ~ Vegetables/Potatos au Gratin/Hamburger ~ Bacon!

Good 46º morning. Clear and so nice and cool!!!

Yesterday my dil, Marie Maxwell, posted these photos of Aaron (zzzzzzz.....) with their new little baby girl Madeline! Adorable.

Yesterday about 10 minutes after I posted my blog, saying didn't look like we were going to get any rain.. it stared raining! I had seen it raining up on my mountain, but it did come down here. It 'drizzled' for a couple hours! Wet down everything so nice and kept the air clear!

While I was outside, Mr. Hummer stopped by for a snack...

I see you, taking my picture!

I LOVE Tchaikovsky! I LOVE The Waltz of the Flowers! This is beautiful. These young musicians are FABULOUS! It made me cry, I know.... only because I love this waltz so much! I turned the sound up all the way! Enjoy! Thanks John Anderson (LASD ret) for sharing!!! ox

Forty students from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance took a classical approach to the flash mob as they flash waltzed Tchaikovsky's
Waltz of the Flowers at the new Sarah Wetsman Davidson Hospital Tower in Jerusalem .
Doctors, patients and passers-by joined in the fun.
The surprise concert was part of Good Deeds Day, an annual event that originated in Israel in 2007 and now takes place in over 50 countries worldwide. On this day volunteers reach out to the less fortunate and the vulnerable.
The Academy students enjoyed the day so much that they have decided to schedule regular concerts at the hospital. Hadassah Medical Organization treats over one million patients annually, without regard to race, religion or national origin.

Today is a SPECIAL birthday.. my pal Edda Gahm. HAPPY BIRTHDAY EDDA!!!!

Edda visited up here when her sis GloW and bro-in-law John lived in GP for a short time. She fell in love with the area and Tap Rock! Come back Edda.... Tap Rock and the Great Cats Park!

How about this simple yummy recipe....
Muffin Tamales:
Now what could be better.... easy tamale muffins! Lighter than masa, you use cornbread muffin mix!

aluminum foil or foil baking cups
2 pkgs (8½ oz each) corn bread muffin mix
1 can (14½ oz) cream-style corn
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1½ cups Mexican cheese blend, divided
1½ cups chopped cooked chicken (I like the thighs best .. more moist)
¾ cup red enchilada sauce
Heat oven to 400º. In large bowl combine muffin mix, corn, and eggs. Stir until just moistened. Stir in 1 cup of cheese.
In another bowl toss chicken with enchilada sauce.

Fill each of 24 foil lined muffin cups with 2 tablespoons of the batter. Place 1 tablespoon of the chicken mixture in the center of each and cover with about 1 tablespoon of the batter.

Bake 13-15 minutes or until golden brown. Sprinkle tops with remaining cheese, bake another 3-5 minutes until cheese is melted. Cool 5 minutes before removing from pan to wire racks. Serve warm. Refrigerate leftovers.

Balloons I got from Jen for my birthday is a special treat for Bruiser!

Dinner.... I reconstituted some freeze-dried veggies.. and thawed out some Omaha potatoes au gratin and a hamburger patty....

The vegetables I mixed with mayo and some lemon pepper marinade/dressing.

Frying the hamburger patty I used the garlic sea salt and pepper...

The potato croquettes were cooked in the micro and I set the burger patty atop a cheddar rice cake with mayo.
                                OMGOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!

Then it was chair time, another glass of vino, and a Hallmark movie....

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Monday. Ciao.

Great Cats World Park ~ Tap Rock w/Friends

Good 60º cloudy morning.
Doesn't look like any rain for us today though...

Yesterday was UNIMAGINABLY WONDERFUL! Brian and Jen treated me to an 'early' birthday celebration with Brian's connection to Great Cats World Park  http://www.greatcatsworldpark.com/ . This cats of the world park is in Cave Junction, Or on Redwood Highway.

We had a "special" visit, 30 minutes before they opened and I got to hold a couple of the baby cats....
This one is Czar, an 8 week old White Bengal Tiger... such blue eyes!

And this is Petra, a 9 week old Bengal Tiger.... she was licking my neck!!! Such fun.(I had no idea what the plan was. It was a secret. But, look.... I wore my cat shirt! LOL)

Tucker, Sami, Jean, me and Czar, Jen, and Brian....

After the petting fun we had a tour of the whole park... OMG, such beautiful cats! I have about 500 photos to go through, mine and Jen's. Will make a smilebox later and post it.
After the fun at the cat park we headed back to Grants Pass. Jen had set up a party at Tap Rock and she and Brian invited a bunch of my pals. I walked in and saw all the people there to celebrate my birthday and I cried! OMG!
Here are the 'girls'...
Dee, Jennifer, Kathy, the "almost 70 birthday girl, Micol, and PJ....... a couple of them were missing, and they were missed!  (The guys are in other photos!)

What a perfect day. The weather was also perfect! Jen, you and Brian are AWESOME and I so loved all of the day!!!! oxoxoxoxooxo's

Now for August 30th stuff... No time or mood to do that today so here is the link to August 30th, 2011:

All I know for now. Nuff said. Happy Sunday. Ciao.

RAIN! ~ Poleeeece Comments ~ Crock*Pot Stuffed Cabbage Casserole ~ Bridal Fever

Good 63º fresh clean air some clouds morning! Rain. Heard it about 3:45am. Rain gauge says 3/4". YIPPPPEEEEEE

The sunset last night with all the smoke...

Breakfast...
Greek low fat plain yogurt, banana, fresh lemon juice drizzled over all. Lettuce, fresh lemon juice, garlic salt, chicken thigh.

I have decided, without a doctor's analysis, that I have ACD! I do know a couple of people who have OCD. They are obsessive about a number of things. I am not obsessive, I have Acute Cooking Disorder!
Yesterday didn't heat up as fast as is has been. By 11am it was only 79º. Prior to that I took Dude for a run down to the mailbox. He was a happy camper. By noon it was only 80º. Nice. By 2:30 the pressure was dropping, but less than 'chance' of rain at that time. It was 89º. I had been running around, packing stuff to get rid of, vacuuming, etc. Humidity inside was 43% and I was sweatin' like an old pig!

From my friend Karen B...

These are actual comments made by Cops that were taken off their car videos:     (or so it says)

1. "You know, stop lights don't come any redder than the one you just went through."

2. "Relax, the handcuffs are tight because they're new. They'll stretch after you wear them a while."

3. "If you take your hands off the car, I'll make your birth certificate a worthless document."

4. "If you run, you'll only go to jail tired."

5. "Can you run faster than 1200 feet per second? Because that's the speed of the bullet that'll be chasing you."

6. "You don't know how fast you were going? I guess that means I can write anything I want to on the ticket, huh?"

7. "Yes, sir, you can talk to the shift supervisor, but I don't think it will help. Oh, did I mention that I'm the shift supervisor?"

8. "Warning! You want a warning? O.K, I'm warning you not to do that again or I'll give you another ticket."

9. "The answer to this last question will determine whether you are drunk or not. Was Mickey Mouse a cat or a dog?"

10. "Fair? You want me to be fair? Listen, fair is a place where you go to ride on rides, eat cotton candy and corn dogs and step in monkey poop."

11. "Yeah, we have a quota. Two more tickets and my wife gets a toaster oven."

12. "In God we trust; all others we run through NCIC." ( National Crime Information Center )

13. "Just how big were those 'two beers' you say you had?"

14. "No sir, we don't have quotas anymore. We used to, but now we're allowed to write as many tickets as we can."

15. "I'm glad to hear that the Chief (of Police) is a personal friend of yours. So you know someone who can post your bail."

AND THE WINNER IS....

16.. "You didn't think we give pretty women tickets? You're right, we don't. Sign here."

Lemon Juice Day

Lemon is one of my favorite flavors. Love it in my morning green tea, love to make a salad dressing with lemon juice and mayonnaise and seasonings.
