Historically this date...
............OMGOSH, entering our country legally! What a concept!
1949 – At midnight 26 Irish counties officially leave the British Commonwealth. A 21-gun salute on O'Connell Bridge, Dublin, ushers in the Republic of Ireland.
...........YEAH, tired of that Limey rule!
1961 – Bay of Pigs Invasion: A group of CIA financed and trained Cuban exiles lands at the Bay of Pigs in Cuba with the aim of ousting Fidel Castro.

..... his birth name is odd....
Dinner was lightweight. I cooked some couscous blend (has dried peas in it), sauteed veggies in a bit of water and olive oil, added in the couscous. Fried a steelhead (from Washington state!) slab in olive oil, sprinkled on Mrs. Dash, topped the veggies with some steelhead, and sprinkled on Parmesan cheese... Taaa daaaa....
Trip to the dentist yesterday for my 6 month cleaning/check up. Always fun to chat with Liz (Lizzardbreath!!!) my hygienist. Dentist was pleased with my teeth. No cavities. He said I had nicely formed teeth, no dentures, and they looked great. Well, in part, lots of people never did go to the dentist regularly as children. I did, starting at 5 years old and have always taken care of those babies. Didn't want to have dentures like Daddy! While I was there I read an article in a fitness magazine about eating a clove of garlic a day to prevent all sorts of body mis-functions and cancer etc. Then it said to get rid of the garlic breath drink a class of water or eat and apple. I made a stab at trying that, only eating about 1/4 of a clove. OMG! It's HOT! ICK! Didn't have an apple or milk so drank wine. My breath felt horrible for a long time! I think garlic supplements would be the best way.....
All I know. Happy TBT. Haircut day. Nuff said. Ciao.

National Cheeseball Day
Why should it be an insult to call someone 'a cheeseball' when these softened and rolled cheese snack-appetizers are so darn good, and usually only make their appearance at festive occasions like parties or holiday gatherings?
(Some yummmmmy cheeseball recipes here:)
