Interesting about hippos......

Here are some fascinating facts about Hippos:
1.Hippos can’t swim or float! They walk or stand on surfaces below the water like sandbanks. Even so, they spend most of the day in water to protect their sensitive skin from the sun.
2.Although hippos can hold their breath for approximately seven minutes, most adult hippos resurface every three to five minutes to breathe. This is an automatic process – even sleeping hippo surface to breathe without waking.
3.A hippo can live for up to 40 years.
4.The hippo is considered one of the most dangerous animals in Africa and it is highly aggressive, particularly if you get between it and the water. Their canine teeth (sharp teeth) are used for fighting.
5.The hippopotamus is the third largest land mammal after the elephant and white rhino.
6.The hippo’s closest living relatives are whales and porpoises! Now you know!

Deviled Egg Dip

Here's  a way for you to enjoy the classic taste of your favorite deviled eggs. No more slicing and scooping, and mixing; just toss everything in your food processor! It's the perfect recipe to serve up at your TV football game, your Christmas pre-dinner appetizer, or for any gathering.....

  • 6 hard-boiled eggs, peeled
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
*or whatever it is you like in your deviled eggs. I like bacon salt in mine!
  1. In a food processor or blender, combine all ingredients; process until smooth.
  2. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

When it comes to dipping, maybe serve up an assortment of crispy crackers, freshly cut veggies, or crusty French bread!
Special anniversary today.... Jeannie and Bill (LASD ret.) are celebrating #26. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY KIDS! ox

He was one of the most awesome catchers ever!!!

Later I went into town, post office for package and market for groceries. I had a GREAT conversation with a lady at the post office while we waited in line. Came home and put away groceries and figured out what to have for dinner...
It ended up being rice with peas (cooked together in my rice cooker) and an Omaha Steaks marinated salmon filet (370º for 12 minutes in the Air Fryer), and some peeled baby carrots. Dessert was a piece of Schwans cheesecake! OMGOOOOD!

Then, as you know, it was chair, wine, Bruiser, and TV.

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday. Ciao.

Each year on November 27, people across the country observe National Bavarian Cream Pie Day.
To make a Bavarian Cream Pie, Bavarian cream, also called crème bavaroise, is poured into a baked pie crust and refrigerated.  French chef, Marie Antione Careme is given credit for the invention of Bavarian cream, which is a gelatin-based pastry cream originally served in gourmet restaurants and luxury hotels in France in the early 19th century.
