Cloudy 4th ~ Bruiser ~ Throw Back Thursday ~ Costa Rican Pizote ~ Original Declaration of Independence ~ Picture of the Day ~ Creamy Cucumber Salad ~ Mexican Style Pizza ~ Cloud Formations ~ Gunshots

Good 50º clear sunny morning. Topped at 90º yesterday.

Yesterday it was cloudy overcast, which surprised me being July! Well I shouldn't be surprised, it did the same exact thing last year!

Bruiser decided to go out for a "walk".....

After he saw me taking his picture, he came back.

Happy Throw Back Thursday......

Me and my neighbor Roger playing cowboys on my Dad's sawhorses!!

My high school friend Steve Geon is at his "summer house" in Costa Rica. He sent this photo of a thief stealing bananas ..

Also known as a Pizote. This raccoon like monkey climbed the pole and ate the bananas Steve feeds to the birds. Steve said the birds down there mostly eat fruit and he has about 40 banana plants, so lots for the critters to eat!

Interesting...

The original Declaration of Independence still survives and is one of the most treasured papers in American history. It is stored in a titanium case filled with inert argon gas. The thick bulletproof glass sheet over it is tinted very heavily to prevent damage from sunlight or UV rays. Similar preservation techniques are used to protect the Bill of Rights and Constitution. The Declaration of Independence remains on display in the rotunda of the National Archives, where it is seen by roughly 6,000 tourists every day. At night, when the crowds have all gone home, the case is lowered 22 feet into a vault.

Picture of the Day...

I got my Schwans order Tuesday and ordered a lot of things I love, and something new... Mexican Style Pizza....

A crispy crust, topped with a blend of mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, Mexican-style sausage, a spicy sauce, crunchy tortilla chips, green chilies, tomatoes, onions, black olives and bell peppers. My Schwans guy, Leon, said everyone LOVES this pizza. Will let you know!

In the afternoon I sat on the porch and enjoyed the crazy cloud formations. It was quite windy, which was nice!

I have a crazy neighbor just to the north of me, I do not know who he is, but he likes to cap off rounds on holidays and other occasions. This Adam Henry started at 9pm with 2 rounds fired. Then between 11pm and midnight he fired 150 rounds, he also shot at a tannerite exploding targets ...
there were 12 explosions...
and he also has an automatic rifle which he fired 128 or so rounds!!! What an idiot. He obviously cares NOTHING about his neighbors!!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Thursday. Ciao.

National Graham Cracker Day is observed annually on July 5th.  The graham cracker was originally invented as a “health food” as part of the “Graham Diet”.  Developed by Presbyterian minister, Sylvester Graham in the early 1800s, graham crackers were originally made from whole-wheat graham flour with added bran and wheat germs.  The minister believed this snack would curb a variety of sinful cravings.
Modern graham crackers are made with bleached white flour and come in a variety of flavors including honey, cinnamon and chocolate. While a delicious snack on their own, they are also terrific ingredients for desserts. Crushed graham crackers blended with butter and pressed into pie tins or springform pans make excellent crusts when lightly toasted. One of the most popular treats made with graham crackers is the S’more.
HOW TO OBSERVE
Buy some graham crackers and have a snack.
