Good 35º ice on the barn roof morning..
Lunch yesterday with the girls (Jennifer, Dee, Nancy, and me)
at Musashi in Grants Pass.
I had miso soup, hot saké, and the sashimi bento... with pot
stickers, rice, tempura, salad, sashimi. OMGOOD!!!
Just read about a cat born in Ireland who is 25 years
old and the oldest living feline. Wow. My Harley lived to be 22 years old. Not
too shabby. Sure miss him!
Ann Ramirez (LASD ret) sent me the following... I LOVE it and
want one!!!
I do have this sign... maybe I should put it on a post on my
road instead of the wall by the bathroom!
The rest of my Laughlin trip pictures... Day 6 to 9... Some more photos of friends and my nephew (from Pendleton family) whom I hadn't seen in YEARS! He joined me on pizza night at the hospitality room. Good to see you Dave! Left the next morning heading through the desert and back to Covina. Unfortunately Kristen was sick so we didn't get to visit again. I went down a few doors from the motel and got a Marie Calenders to go dinner. Sunset was pretty. Next morning headed up north via 210 Fwy (UGH traffic... but better than the 10 Fwy!) Over the grapevine and up to Sacramento. The dryness of the Central Valley is staggering. The "Dust Bowl" as it's now called. That night again spent with Andy and Linda... also that night the bus and FedEx truck crashed. So sad. Kristen said a senior from El Monte High was one of those killed. Depressing going through that area of the crash. Then last stop at All Star Liquors in Hilt Ca. So fun to shop there. Told the owners that my dear friend Sid (Reserve Captain) was a friend of John Wayne's.. They go on the Wild Goose fishing and to Mexico to dove hunt. Sid said the Duke loved Hornitos Tequila. His fav. So I bought some. The store owner was saying that the family of John Wayne are going to produce a liquor that was also one of his favorites and it's going to be called Duke ... or something of that nature. Anyway, yeah to be back home!

National Garlic Day
National Garlic Day promotes the many uses of Garlic. And, there
certainly are many uses. It's a vegetable. Its' a herb. It is used in recipes
around the world. Garlic has ben used medicinally for thousands of years. And,
Garlic is believed to ward off evil spirits. About the only negative thing you
can say about it, is that it can negatively affect an otherwise romantic
evening.
