Scott Carpenter ~ Football ~ Alex&Eli ~ Disneyland 1955 ~ Spaghetti Sauce ~ Eggs in Peppers

Good 33º frost on the barn roof foggy morning!

"10-11" ... transmitting too rapidly. (In other words, SLOW down!)

Scott Carpenter RIP

Malcolm Scott Carpenter (May 1, 1925 – October 10, 2013) was an American test pilot, astronaut and aquanaut. He was one of the original seven astronauts selected for NASA's Project Mercury in April 1959. Carpenter was the second American to orbit the Earth and the fourth American in space, following Alan Shepard, Gus Grissom and John Glenn.

and last evening about 6:38pm....

and one minute later ...
I called Jeannie and said, "LOOK at the sunset!" She begrudgingly got up from her comfy chair and looked out. Surprise! It's beautiful!  Sorry I got you up girlfriend. xo

Here is GOOD news for my friends who are Bears fans (Phil, Suzanne, Dan....) WHOOT WHOOT WHOOT.... Giants lost!!!!!! Yes.

And can you believe this sh*t... the name of the Washington Redskins is going to have to be changed to please a few idiots of American Indian heritage AND the IDIOT in the WHITE HOUSE (because he opened his BIG mouth about something he AGAIN, SHOULD NOT HAVE!)  .... because they said it's like the "N" word. Oh for Pete's sake! What about the Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, Kansas City Chiefs, Brooklyn Redmen (lacrosse), Tomahawks Lacrosse Club, Arcadia High Apaches, Scappoose High (Oregon) School Scappoose Indians, Utah Utes, Mississaugh Tomahawks, and the Rogue River High School Chieftains??????? It pisses me off! Those names were given in honor of American Indian heritage!

OK, off my
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr............

Alex was looking forward to a unique way for her boyfriend Eli to ask her to the Homecoming. Looks like he found it... a cookie with "Will you go to home-coming with me?" Cute! Good job Eli!

Here is an interesting video... Disneyland 1955... several home movies put together for this.... The women and girls most are wearing dresses or skirts and the men in suits or shirts and ties. What a change from then to now.
(The music sucks on this video.... !)

I didn't have room to post my cooking adventure yesterday so here it is... While Martin and Jake were working I was cookin'! As I said, I put the red-ish heirloom cherry tomatoes in the crockpot and cooked them along with garlic and a diced up jalapeño, then added in 3 bell peppers.

After that had cooked a good long time I transferred it to a frying pan to cook it down. Added in mushrooms, and sliced
chipotle green olives.

Then I added in some

.... and canned it!
REALLY good, as I licked the pan clean!

Then it was time for breakfast yesterday....
I sauteéd the bell pepper in Rosemary infused olive oil... added eggs, seasoning, and put on the lid so they would cook through. GOOD!!!

All I know. Lunch with friends today. Yesterday Jake was here and fixed the barn light and with Jeannie's idea will put one over my carport. Down by the barn is a disker, I asked Jake if he would be interested in it... he said yes, so he's going to come pick it up. Not quite like this one... but close. Yeah, one more thing off my list!
Ok, all I know. Nuff said. Happy TGIF. Ciao
