Memorial Day ~ Kevin & Daryl ~ Indy 500 ~ Brisket Day

Good 50ยบ cloudy morning. No rain predicted, except for the coast.

Thinking of our military today and all some have sacrificed for us. God Bless them. Mine is a military family, having members who served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines. Jerry was not only a Marine but also in the California National Guard.

A busy day today... Flag unfurling on the Grants Pass Bridge, 21 gun salute, F-15 fly-over,

boat races..... leaving early for the festivities. Hooking up with Jeannie and Bill and Dale and Dee. Brian and Jen and the kids will be there too. Then early evening BBQ at Brian and Jen's.

I must say that the Indy 500 Race yesterday had a pretty spectacular ending! Dario Franchitti became the 10th driver in the 96 years of Indianapolis to win three or more 500s, picking up his third on Sunday by winning a last-lap trophy dash with Takuma Sato to the checkered flag. Sato tried to pass for the lead going into the first turn, pulled even with Franchitti, then spun hard into the wall after their wheels appeared to make contact. OMG, scary! I was on the edge of my seat.

My friends Trish and John are celebrating with their twin boys, Kevin and Daryl.. their 34th birthday. HAPPY BIRTHSDAY KEVIN AND DARYL~!!!

Historically this date... and births this date.....
Go to the archives on my blog, on the left, go to 2011, May 28th, and click to read what happened and who was born this date. Don't have time to do this today!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Memorial Day Monday. Ciao.

Make tacos, or sandwiches, or serve with loads of veggies and some great sourdough bread.
