Good 37º very foggy again morning. Yesterday we never got to
60º but it was sunny and pretty.
"10-3" ... stop transmitting.
Got the following from Dale, who got it from someone else.... but it does
sound just like Obummer!!!
"Putin allegedly said, off the record,
"Negotiating with Obama is like playing chess with a pigeon. The pigeon
knocks over all the pieces, shits on the board, and then struts around like it
won the game."
As Dale Yellin said, "it gives new meaning to PS." !!!
Today is Jean Schumacher's birthday. She is my daughter-in-law Jen's mom.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEAN!
PICTURE of the day...
Historically this date.....
1951 – The "Shot
Heard 'Round the World", one of the greatest moments in Major League
Baseball history, occurs when the New York Giants' Bobby Thomson hits a game
winning home run in the bottom of the
ninth inning off of the Brooklyn Dodgers pitcher Ralph Branca, to win the National League pennant after being
down 14 games.
......................TRAVESTY!
2003 – Roy Horn of Siegfried & Roy is
attacked by one of the show's tigers, canceling the show until 2009, when they
rejoined the tiger that mauled Roy just six years earlier.
And births this date include...
... you'll like this Jeannie... Joe's son!!! Went to PCC!!!
(still lookin' good Joe!)
Since yesterday was "Name Your Car" Day... Brian called me with some ideas
for his new truck. You Jar Heads will appreciate this.. he's decided on "Chesty"
for his truck's name. He said because it's a "puller" for his tent trailer! LOL.
Good one Bri.
Have decided on 'Bullet' for mine. (fake bullet hole on the back tail
gate... and I am 417!)
I suggested "Sassy" or "Chard" for
Jeannie's new ride. Probably "PP" would be good for Bill's new car!
Yesterday was the Law Enforcement/Fire luncheon...our monthly event. I tell
ya, Erik makes the BEST french fries in the world! Fish and Chips. Awesome! A
couple of LAPD were sitting with us... one is 93 and the other is 97. They are
amazing and still sharp and fun. You should have seen them put away the chicken
fried steaks smothered in gravy! Cleaned their plates! Had a good time. A former
radio room dispatcher, Carolyn Henderson, sat with me. She is such fun. Here's a
picture...
(for you LASD folks...)
L-R... Carolyn, me, "Dirty Harry" LeVine, Tammy Allgood, and Rufus Horn.
Shopping after lunch and home to my chair. Ahhhhh...... dinner was reruns.
Tried watching that Duck Dynasty, but fell asleep right after the start!
Hmmmm....
Yesterday was also 'National Fried Scallop Day' so when I was in the market
I looked for some, but they only had the pencil eraser size. I saw the butcher,
Ryan, and told him and he said, "Wait a second" and took off to the freezer. He
came out with a bag of giant scallops he just got in, "wild caught in the USA".
He asked me how many I wanted, and was going to separate some out of the bag,
but I said, "I'll take the bag!" He gave me a "deal" of about 1/3 off the price!
Sweet.
Had rain in the night. Will stay "cloudy" to "clear" through Monday. All I
know. Nuff said. Happy Thursday. Ciao.

October 3rd.
Techies Day is your chance to give your friendly technician(s) some
well deserved appreciation.
The office technician may be a geek. But, when your PC goes down, or gets a
virus, that geek is invaluable. He's on top of his trade, and can get your
system back up and running faster than you can say "gigabyte".
Not to be left out..... This day is for all technicians, not just computer
techies. There are many highly skilled technical jobs out there that demand high
quality people to assess equipment of all kinds. Let's give a big hand and a
thanks to all techies, from all fields, on this special day.
Make sure that your techie knows that he, or she is appreciated. Give them a
big "TY".
