Good 42º raining morning.
We were told to expect rain yesterday.... it was beautiful and almost up to the 70ºs, but then early afternoon the darker clouds moved in...
Then about 4pm the rain started. Still at it....
My daughter sent me a text with a video of the rain pouring in So. Cal. Do you know what most Californian's reaction is to rain? This is it....

What to feed and not to feed a dog....
Eggs are safe and good for dogs. Eggs contain phospholipids and riboflavin that are good for a dog's coat and overall health. Under cooked eggs should be avoided as they can contain salmonella that can make a dog sick and can cause a biotin deficiency in dogs.
Most people know chocolate is not good for a dog. A compound called theobromine which is similar to caffeine is responsible. A small amount of chocolate will probably only give your dog an upset stomach with vomiting or diarrhea. With large amounts, theobromine can produce muscle tremors, seizures, an irregular heartbeat, internal bleeding or a heart attack. The onset of theobromine poisoning is usually marked by severe hyperactivity.
Onions contain an ingredient called thiosulphate which is toxic to cats and dogs. The ingestion of onions causes a condition called hemolytic anemia, which is characterized by damage to the red blood cells. Onion toxicity can cause the red blood cells circulating through your pet's body to burst. While a little onion may not cause severe issues as it only damages a few red blood cells, onions at higher levels can kill a dog.
Grapes are also toxic to dogs. The consumption of grapes and raisins presents a potential health threat to dogs. Their toxicity to dogs can cause the animal to develop acute kidney injury (the sudden development of kidney failure) with anuria (a lack of urine production).

Special birthday today, my neighbor Cindy Mize. HAPPY BIRTHDAY CINDY!
Cindy and Frank are AWESOME neighbors!!! ♥
Historically this date.........
1621 – The Pilgrims of Plymouth Colony sign a peace treaty with Massasoit of theWampanoags.
1622 – Jamestown massacre: Algonquian Indians kill 347 English settlers aroundJamestown, Virginia, a third of the colony's population.
.... Good grief, sounds like they should have had a treaty~
1765 – The British Parliament passes the Stamp Act that introduces a tax to be levied directly on its American colonies.
... THIS MEANS WAR!
1984 – Teachers at the McMartin preschool in Manhattan Beach, California are charged with satanic ritual abuse of the children in the school. The charges are later dropped as completely unfounded.
....The trial lasted seven years and cost $15 million, the longest and most expensive criminal case in the history of the United States legal system, and ultimately resulted in no convictions. Can you believe it... Chuck Norris, the actor, was identified by one child as being one of the abusers!
1997 – Tara Lipinski, age 14 years and 10 months, becomes the youngest champion women's World Figure Skating Champion.
And births this date include....
1908 – Louis L'Amour, American author (d. 1988)
Jerry's favorite author!
1912 – Karl Malden, American actor (d. 2009)
1920 – James Brown, American actor (d. 1992)
Awww.... I loved Rin Tin Tin and even have an autographed picture from Mr. Brown!
.... and look at this, the little boy in Rin Tin Tin was Lee Aaker who played Rusty... OMG
He went from 'so cute' to 'so weird'!
1923 – Marcel Marceau, French mime artist (d. 2007)
1931 – William Shatner, Canadian actor
1933 – May Britt, Swedish actress
She met Sammy Davis, Jr. in 1959. They began dating, and, after a brief engagement, were married on November 13, 1960. Their wedding caused controversy. A rumor or myth, John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy told Frank Sinatra to tell Davis not to marry May until after the 1960 Presidential Election. At that time interracial marriage was forbidden by law in 31 U.S. states, and only in 1967 were those laws (by then down to 17 states) ruled unconstitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court.
She must have 'retired' because there are no recent photos of her anywhere!
1976 – Reese Witherspoon, American actress
Later some housecleaning. UGH. Dinner and then chair, wine, and TV!!
This is hilarious. Sent to me by Mike Nelson (LASD ret) and he said when he saw it he thought of me!!! LOL......
I told him, my neighbors Frank & Cindy had given me this sign...
Bruiser has many places he likes to hang out... this is one, on top of the freezer on the back patio....
All I know. Nuff said. Happy TBT. Ciao.

Research indicates that this day is also known as International Goof Off Day. It is a day to relax, enjoy and goof off. Do something fun and leave the work until tomorrow. Everybody needs to take a break from time to time. It is often so easy to get so involved in the work and pressures in our lives. So stop, take a break, find something different!
It is a day to relax, enjoy and goof off. Do something fun and leave the work until tomorrow. Everybody needs to take a break from time to time. It is often so easy to get so involved in the work and pressures in our lives. So stop, take a break, find something different!
Let any goofy idea pop into your head. Make paper airplanes from seed packets. Doodle pictures of poodles in puddles in Peru. Play a game of Jenga with randomly stacked spice jars. Or do the obvious and spend the day in your pajamas doing nothing.
HOW TO OBSERVE
There are many different things that a person could do. Strictly speaking, goofing off is the avoidance of work. So whatever you do on National Goof Off Day, try not to look like you are working. Use #NationalGoofOffDay to post on social media.
HISTORY
Monica (Moeller) Dufour of Davidson, MI founded National Goof Off Day. According to official records, the first celebration took place in 1976. In an interview with the Detroit Free Press in 1983, Moeller suggests the first event may have been a few years later. Whenever the inaugural day took place, it’s no surprise National Goof Off Day was created by a kid with the direction to do things out of the ordinary.
