Good 39º cloudy morning.
Yesterday morning it was this...
When I was out there taking the picture, Maggie was oblivious.
And by afternoon it was this....
The sun came out, the sun went away, it poured, the sun came out, the sun went away, it poured..... you get the idea.
This morning there is hope for sunshine...
Today is the Boatnik Parade in Grants Pass. My grandson, Tucker, will be in the parade. He's one of those brainiacs and he's done so well in 1st grade he along with all the other brainiacs in the school will be in the parade.
Several years ago, 2005,Tucker was in the Boatnik Parade, but he doesn't remember it.. Brian was riding on the Masonic float and he took Tucker with him...He was 20 months old and when he saw me he wanted "Bobo"!!!
There will be the parade, the festival in the park, and the boat races....
Lunch yesterday was Margarita Pizza and broccoli.
Dinner was Asian Style Beef with veggies and rice on a bed of spinach with cauliflower and tomato. Really good! I drizzled a touch of garlic infused olive oil on the spinach and tomato.
Actually my favorite way to eat cauliflower is the way pal Sandy showed me... break it all apart, melt some butter in a big fry pan, and sauté the cauliflower until golden browned. OMG. SOOOOO Good!!!!!
Historically this date....
1937 – The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, California, is officially opened by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in Washington, D.C., who pushes a button signaling the start of vehicle traffic over the span.
1996 – U.S. President Bill Clinton's former business partners in the Whitewater land deal, James McDougal and Susan McDougal, and the Governor of Arkansas Jim Guy Tucker, are convicted of fraud.
...... AND in In 2001, in the final hours of his presidency, President Bill Clinton granted Susan McDougal a full Presidential pardon. Of course! What a guy! Another ADAM HENRY who ran our country into the ground and committed fraud, among other things.
And births this date include....
1888 – Jim Thorpe/Wa-Tho-Huk, American pentathlete, decathlete, football, baseball and basketball player (d. 1953)
Interesting read, a Naval Commander in Naval Intelligence in the Royal Navy. No wonder he could 'do up' James Bond so well!
1931 – Carroll Baker, American actress
Annette - Cecile - Yvonne
Don't know if I like him without that stash!
1978 .... and today is my friends Trish and John's twin boys birthday... Happy Birthday Daryl and Kevin. Double 3's !!!
Kewl.
Before dinner I was reading the book Jean gave me for Mother's Day, "Good Stuff" by Jennifer Grant.
She is the only child of Cary Grant and his once wife Dianne Cannon. The book is loving and sweet. She even mentions Fabergé, where I worked for nearly 10 years and Mr. Grant was on the Board of Directors. Mr. Barrie set up the deal with Grant, he had use of the company jet anytime he wanted it to see his daughter, wherever she and her mother might be, due to Dianne's movies and stage acting. All he had to do in payment was pop into a local Wal-Mart, etc. and take publicity shots with the manager and staff. I did get to meet Mr. Grant and he was the NICEST man! Drool and swoon.
Then I watched the 1995 movie "Forget Paris" with Billy Crystal and Debra Winger. Always enjoy this flick.... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0113097/
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Saturday.
